The head doesn’t really matter as long as it isn’t too flexible the mesh is what matters try your mesh with zero shooting strings and then work from there
Best instructional videos on RU-vid. Nobody breaks down the details like Joey. Really appreciate these videos, such a big help when teaching players the techniques they need to improve.
Wall Ball was essentially created by Long Island ' Uniondale High School'(1959-1962) Jimmy Lewis, who many believe was the greatest attacker ever. He would spend two hours at the wall, faking shots behind the back, (with two hands on a wooden stick, you could not play with one hand), simple catch and throw. Jimmy Lewis would go on to the Naval Academy where he was 1st team All-American for three years. One year whilst at the Naval Academy, he decided to play soccer and led his team to the National Title. I wrote an article about Wall Ball in Lacrosse magazine in April 1993, which set the lacrosse world on fire. Pay close attention to this extremely talented young man, Joey Sankey will make you a better player.
Love your final comment. I believe this is true of every sport. If you never make a mistake, you aren't going hard enough and challenging yourself. Perfect!
I struggle with not snapping my top hand (Left hand) when I'm shooting with my weak hand, do you have any tips to get your weak wrist more engaged in your shot?
what about a sidearm shot ? i naturally shoot sidearm with my main hand which is my dominant hand . should i try to start with overhand or shoot sidearm like my left ?
Just want to say thank you for posting this type of content. Your attention to detail and focus on the important takeaways is incredibly helpful to coaches like myself. There is a huge difference between demonstrating/drilling a skill and coaching/teaching that skill. I have implemented some of this already with some of my newer high school players and have seen an immediate impact. They are showing better technique and habits. As a result, I feel like our shooting drills are reinforcing those good habits rather than compounding the bad habits that players tend to to get into on their own. Again, thank you and "more please"!!! Regards, RH-Texas Lax Coach
Just want to say thanks for posting this type of content. I coach youth and high school and your attention to detail is incredibly helpful. I will definitely be passing on some of your knowledge to my players. Nice work! #growthegame
