Baseless comparisons. Folks...both devices are great, amazing pieces of engineering. We, the handlers who are ones benefitting most out of these new tech. Evolution from film days, then to DSLR's and now to mirrorless is just amazing. The only deficit is us humans handling it. We need to learn all the fantastic features on offer in order to satisfy our alter ego
I’ve owned this lens for a long time and it’s the only lens I use…even for professional work. I’m don’t own any other lenses. Maybe one day when I’m rich and famous I’ll buy the 2.8 version but from what I’ve seen, the IQ isn’t much different.
I hate when u use a slr camera for record videos , when u review another camera...I think he shot all the clips on Sony...fake video and reciew and footage
Rather than "Full Frame" it should be called "135 Mode" as this is the film type that 35mm camera's use. Full Frame is silly and assumes the world only shoots 35mm cameras whereas many of us still shoot "Full Frame" Medium Format Film.
I rented this camera for my moms birthday party. The photos are gorgeous. But how to set it up so that the photo editor I use would actually let me edit the raw files was confusing.
You videographers out there, just stop buying and using photo-centric (or at best semi-hybrid) cameras and whining about small HDMI connectors, overheating in the most demanding video settings and so on and so forth. It is just annoying and eats in your credibility. Get the right tool for the job, which is a designated video-/film-camera (C70/80, C400, FX3, FX5 etc.)
I was thinking about buying only this lens for my R6 mark II and this video sealed the deal! I hope it'll be just as good for some product shots and food photography as well
At 5:24 what is that plugged into your iPhone that an external memory card where you can put your video into so you don’t use up storage on your iPhone? So where can I buy it from my iPhone?
I hope Nikon recognizes what is possible and will soon release a firmware update for the flexible picture control profile and the imaging cloud. Both are currently only available for the Z6III, although these features appeal much more to the Zf user community. I myself came to Fujifilm 8 years ago as a Nikon user and have learned to love these film simulations and recipes because I prefer taking photos rather than spending time on the computer. I also prefer to have a consistent look straight out of the camera. Nikon has all the tools available. Now I just hope they realize what's possible. Otherwise they would really be missing out on potential.
Used a Fujixpro3 and a Leica Q2, i switched to nikon because nikon looks like a fuji and auto focuses like a sony and is sharp like a leica with the right lens
The ZF is a beautiful camera, but it lacks a grip, a flippy screen, and a joystick. Even as a Nikon guy, I prefer the XT5. I had the ZF but sold it to put the money towards a Z8.
I lost the hope in Blackmagic. They add one feature and take another one away. I am a pocket 6k pro owner, and think I'll switch to FX3 now. BRAW will be added to Sony Camera soon :) Its 2024 Autofocus is just a must.
Cameras like this should always have A super wide angle lens This is the kind of camera you would use back in like 2013 to make Vlogs on RU-vid I think people don't realize that the daily Vlog kind of video would have been good with the camera like this. But nowadays people don't typically Vlog like that anymore the quality is not bad for what it is
Hey hey amazing video as usual love your stuff Soo I guess everones had to be on there best behaviour reviewing these cameras in japan to not upset Panasonic But no one is really talking about this banding under artificial light for more than a second in there videos and..... it's pretty SERIOUS side of the cameras that we really as an average consumer need to know before we spend quit a bit of money on a camera. Soo please please help me not make the wrong choice if I buy this as a Camera for shooting video of me Painting in my studio under artificial light is this thing going to be completely useless?? Big love T.
Hey Thomas. Tbh, I have not used this camera extensively under studio lights (i almost always film outside). That said, I personally have not seen that issue in my footage when I have shot in studio. My advice is buy it on Amazon. You have 30 days to test and return if it doesn’t work. There’s a link in the description. Good luck
Dude!! Really appreciate you getting back to me that means allot a few people on hear responded to in a really rude way soo thanks for being nice. Great advice about the returning thing. Have a good one man
wow, the nikon screen folding really sucks, why bother making a folding screen that doesnt go to the front? even my 10 year old apsc nikon that was under 1000 has a screen that flips fully forward. complete fail on the z8
I'm confused. Canon R5 Mark 2 as 8K 60, 4K 120, 1440p 200... that's better than every Sony Camera whilst packing 45 mpx and best in class auto focus system
There are beautiful new vintage lenses available from Voigtländer for Z-Mount. Don't know why they don't get mentioned but they are a perfect match for the Zf in style, rendering, build quality. They have clickable aperture rings and are manual focus.
Hate to be that guy but your comment at 7:52 is a bit misinformed - it's a throwback to their manual lens designs where you had a metal ring (with color markings for depth of field) between the aperture ring and focus ring. But I do agree they should just let us have proper aperture rings on the lenses for this style of body. Nice video otherwise :)
Lenses matter, sensor size mostly only matters if there isn't a lens option to achieve the desired result or if cost is prohibitive. Full frame is best on wider angles up to around 50mm, at that point there are ways of getting equivalence out of most smaller sensors with the only real compromise being the bokeh size; however, how much bokeh is enough is highly subjective. If one is after human eye equivalence then only only needs to achieve a full frame equivalence of around f/2.2-f/2.8ish. That can be achieved fairly easily with APSC and to a lesser degree even with MFT with very fast lenses or focal reducers. If one wants unnatural bokeh drifting into the realm of Toneh levels then Full Frame and medium format are the bets options; however if one is doing super telephoto work then MFT and APSC are going to be the better options as they can achieve a much greater reach, and can still achieve excellent bokeh for a fraction of the price of Full Frame. As for people who want to make the sensor pixel size argument, that ship has pretty much sailed given the Alexa 35 is Super 35 ( roughly APSC) and has the highest dynamic range on the market currently. Every sensor is different , and the size of the sensor isn't as important is if the look of it is appealing to the individual using it. Choosing the right sensor & lens combo comes down to the situating and really knowing your gear.
The FUJI community always forgets that Nikon is copying it's own camera which is the FM2 film camera from the 1980'ies in this case. Nikon makes camera equipment since 1917. Also it's not the first time that Nikon makes retro-inspired cameras. There was already the Df which is a DSLR version.
Every since the OG X100 and XT1, I always told my self if Fujifilm would make a full frame version I would be 100% on board. Glad to see Nikon step up to answer that call.
Bought the ZF on its release. Understood how the iso implementation worked but couldn’t stand it. And after a couple of reports of condensation in the viewfinder I got rid.
Is a full frame sensor more forgiving than a smaller sensor, sure. But the size of the sensor does not make the photographer. Some sensors are all cut from the same cloth it's just matter of cost whether you want the APS-C sized version or the Full Frame version.
@@connormccaskill Yes, a few things.... first the retro look. It closely resembles the Nikon FE, which I purchased way back in 1980 and I still own. Second, the ability to change lenses. Although I like the 23mm/35mm FFE on the x100v, and I have the 28mm WCL, it's just not the same. Lastly, the Zf is just more fun to me to use and with the small rig grip, it's just more comfortable. I'm contemplating selling the Fuji, but can't quite take the step, since I do like it too and it was difficult to get and I pd well over retail to get it.
Fujifilm doesn't need to make that camera. They just need to get their poop together and fix the AF. And fix their production line since people still can't get their pre-orders for the x100vi.
@@connormccaskill They are like a clydesdale horse, you need to put blinders and make them focus on AutoFocus first before they work on new cameras lol.
