Skynet's only downfall if it was tested with the nitrogen it would of failed, with a built in heating capability it would of been unstoppable but that's my thinking i could be wrong
Im 42 and watched this movie as a kid and always wondered why the T-1000 had a look of shock on its face in the final scene when Big Arnie fires the grenade into its stomach. I remember thinking as a 10 year old kid ` its a robot whys it looking shocked its not human like us ` lol. Thanks for clearing up a 30 + year thing that i could never wrap my head around.
Like the T-800 said, a Terminator does feel “pain” in the sense that it is aware of damage to the body. I’m pretty sure the T-1000 has a similar awareness. However, in the case of either Terminator, injuries don’t really affect tasks like firearms or combat to the extent to which parts are still working.
Here is a detail for you ppl wonder why the T1000 takes his bike into cyberdyne- EASY even as a kid i got this, he is PISSED he's been outran twice without having a vehicle and it isn't happening again.- he stabbed the trucker like he was pissed, notice he makes an attempt to run over the guy in the car, and then the guy they borrowed the pickup truck from in reality he could have cleared the swat van better if he went right of it which indicates to me that he did make an attempt to hit that guy
For me he also sometimes lacked intelligence like when he was using a pistol on the T-800 at the mall it was obvious the bullets weren't damaging him it then cost him eating several shotgun blasts knocking him out another one is the tanker chase when the T-1000 makes the T-800 drop his grenade launcher he just sits in his truck even though the T-800 came towards him with an M4 which cost him to eat mutilple bullets could he have not just swerved to the side to avoid the damage
In the T2 paperback novel that I read it says that when it was dying in the molten steel it was experiencing the same physical pain as that of a dying biological organism. 🥵
Ok, first off, bad form with the photo asking why the T-1000 was failing, yet the title of the video was about it evolving. Secondly, you are partly right. The T-1000 was evolving. As you said it's entire body is a computer which means that it didn't have a "read only" setting like the T-800. At the very least it was constantly learning. But one thing that is also talked about in the novelization, that was shown somewhat in the theatrical cut of the movie, and explicitly shown in the extended cut, is that the after the T-1000 was frozen, blown to smitherens, and re-assembled, it was horrendously damaged. Skynet did pre-program the T-1000 to go into hiding so it could repair itself enough that it could function relatively normally (and continue repairing itself as it went active again). That is why it was shown having that "wave" go up its body at the steel mill. Because it was so damaged it most likely couldn't mimic a human form properly (which was the giveaway in the extended cut, but also a plot device for the Sarah/Sarah bit just before it's destruction) or even mimic a voice. That is why it didn't kill Sarah when it had the chance and immediately morph into her. I don't think it found any sadistic joy in it's murders, more that it was studying the reactions. I also think that is why it reacted the way it did when it fell into the molten steel. It knew that it was "dying" and was reacting in a way that it thought it should, while thinking that switching forms could help it. It was also a catharsis for the audience after go though so much in the movie. The T-800 said earlier in the film that it registers a signal when it is shot/stabbed/etc and that it could be considered pain. It is probably the same for the T-1000.
good points. I would also like to add that it is specifically mentioned by the T-800, that the T-1000 is an advanced PROTOTYPE. This specifically emphasizes that despite it's seemingly indestructible nature it is not perfect and can show signs of malfunction (which in the final showdown it does).
Interesting theory, but I don't agree with most of it. The T1000 may have appeared sadistic, but the reason it didn't kill Sarah and try to imitate her is because he was malfunctioning. In some of the deleted scenes, it shows him put his hand on a yellow and black handrail, and his hand got stuck to it. When he pulled his hand off of it, it was yellow and black just like the handrail. Also, at one instance, it showed him walking through the steel mill with the top half being the normal police uniform but the bottom half being that of the motorcycle cop. Also, in another deleted scene, when he DID try to imitate Sarah, John was able to tell it was him because his feet were "melting" into the floor because he was standing on steel grating rather than a solid floor. Whether it was the heat from the mill, the freeze and rapid thaw, or all the damage he'd taken from all the fighting with the T1000, something was causing him to malfunction and have difficulty shapeshifting. Also, when it was smashing the T800 with the heavy machinery, he may not have been doing so to sadistically hurt it because he knew the T800 doesn't feel pain. He was trying to disable it because he knew his ability to shapeshift wouldn't be able to disable a T800 like it would a human. He was trying to use brute force to smash the T800. Then when he impaled it with the metal pole and the T800 shut off, yeah maybe he could've stuck around to make sure the job was done and the T800 wouldn't turn back on. But he also knew that Sarah and John were still alive and running away. Any more time that he spent trying to finish off the T800, that for all he knew was disabled, would've given Sarah and John more time to escape, so it makes logical sense that he would leave the T800 impaled. Similar to how he left the T800 when the T800s arm was stuck in the machine. If he was sadistic, he would've completely killed it right then and there. In both cases, when he impaled the T800 and when the T800s arm was stuck in the gear, the T800 was no longer a barrier between him and John, so he pressed on with his mission.
I think it had also taken too much damage throughout the movie by the end in the molten factory after it had been frozen solid and shattered the extreme hot and cold was causing it to glitch. I do agree that it was learning though, the T800 could learn too but they had to go in and manually enable it, the T1000 didn't have a switch
That is clearly why it was glitching physical. That was the whole point of the freezing, shattering and re-heating. But the personality changes imo are part of the T-1000 was becoming sentient and in control of itself past its programming
The T-1000 doesn't kill Sarah because the intended deleted scene where he realizes they fooled him on the dog's name. It recognizes killing Sarah and just copying her isn't enough.
Man why do yall always drag the MCU into DC stuff??! I *LOVE* BATMAN more than any other superhero. I also love Xmen & Avengers. I can accept both but still keep em secret. Dont contaminate Batman with MCU idle talk man. Go back to sleep!
Listened to this in the gym today to give it a try. Not bad! Not as good as my usual stuff, but overall, I could see myself listening to this on the less demanding workouts or on the cardio.
