13:08 Seeing it with real life eyes Ben never lied. Since it was supposed to be only one Star Wars movie this is more a chicken plucker to explain why Ben said as he did in the first movie. It did get even more complicated to explain after the reveal of Vader as Anakin. By the way, Leia were never considered to be Luke's sister. A new character should be introduced and she should have her own trilogy but while shooting this movie George Lucas went thru a difficult divorce and felt worn out so he scrapped the plans and decided to wrap it up and end the Skywalker saga there by editing in Leia as the sister.
Anakin killed the separatist b/c Palpatine wanted to take over the Republic and the separatist represent a powerful faction that could potentially rebel against the Empire once they relieved they were getting played.
Yes, it is an understatement to say that Palpatine is a genius - unfortunately. Thankfully, his inability to understand empathy was a crippling weakness.
36:02 This scene right here in my opinion, makes it worth watching in chronological order. It completes the story and finishes Anakin’s redemption perfectly. We saw him suffering his entire life, but in the end the love for his son set him free.
Don't forget that THIS is the original Obi-Wan Kenobi. Sir Alec Guinness was an extremely revered actor and he was the biggest star (along with Peter Cushing as Grand Moff Tarkin) in this movie. Ewan McGregor (the guy who played young Obi-Wan) studied Alec Guinness' speech and mannerisms so that he could properly portray a younger version of the original Obi-Wan.
Interesting fact about Lyle (The man who said the 'N' word first onscreen) The actor, Burton Gilliam, was incredibly uncomfortable saying it. It wasn't until Cleavon Little took him aside and had a word with him that he managed to get through it. Basically, Cleavon pointed out that everybody knew it wasn't Burton saying it. It was Lyle saying it, and Lyle's supposed to be a racist moron.
Great reactions. Your narrative is thought provoking. Blazing Saddles is a brilliant movie.Mel Brooks is a genius. Well done. I am proud to subscribe to your channel.
@@edgyviews George Lucas intended them to be watched in chronological order when he made the Prequels. Granted, release order is also designed to make perfect sense, obviously. So really, you can watch them in both ways, they have their pros and cons. Some Star Wars fans are obsessed with seeing the release order as the only correct one, but don't put too much stock in them, both orders are valid.
That campfire scene was actually historic. Burt Gilliam playing Lyle, the bad guy foreman, became the first person ever to fart on screen in a major motion picture.
I really hope you watched these first two episodes again after seeing episodes 1, 2 and 3. This entire show relies on the context of the first 3 films. Especially when Obi Wan was telling Leia about how she reminded her of someone. That "im sorry" "me too" hurt :(
I feel like the tittle “return of the Jedi” was talking more about Anakin returning and saving the galaxy fulfilling his destiny as the chosen one. He in the end destroyed the sith, brought peace and balance to the galaxy just like the prophecy said he would ❤
@@edgyviewsYou should watch them . A lot of people dislike them but it’s still good to continue and finish off all the whole star wars films to see which you liked best. It real only messes up star wars for you if your really deep into star wars.
This movie is about fun and bringing the races together Richard Pryor was the co-writer of the screenplay their job was to create a movie you will always want to see again.
I used to think someone like that Gov couldn't get elected , but look who we have as President now . The Gov is a combination of Bill Clinton/Monica and Stumbling Joe .
Saw this as a 16 yr old at a drive-in...funniest movie i have ever seen...your right, they could not/would not make this now. Mel Brooks had a vision and some balls to pull this off!
If you haven't already seen it, I'd recommend "JoJo Rabbit". It's a more modern comedy that I think can be in the same category as these types of lasting comedies.
I'm sure someone has pointed it out, but the piano player you thought was Carl Winslow was actually Count Basie. The band was playing one of his hits: April in Paris.
He can do that man looks like he got strong I didn't even know he could control people's minds that was pretty dope Flash back to Star Wars episode 2 You wanna buy some death sticks You dont want to sell me death sticks you want to go home and rethink your life I want to go home and rethink my life HAHAHAHAHA That's how you know he's doing something illegal End of flashback
Luke is probably more humble than Anakin probably because he wasn't a slave or take by the jedi from his mother than watch his mother die in his hand Anakin was a slave to Watto a slave to the Jedi order a slave to his emotions and a slave to the Sith In the comic when Anakin was a padawan he was bullied by his peers that not even his teacher liked him calling him a slave or outsider that why he was rebellious with Obi wan
I definitely agree with you cause I believe that a lot of times trauma shapes our reality. If Luke went to the same thing his father did then we might have gotten a different luke
I you rewatch the ending of Revenge Of The Sith when Anakin is being reborn you can hear his heartbeat and when the mask goes on it stops showing that Anakin Skywalker is dead
I didn't even know darth Vader was that strong Back to Episode 1 of Star wars we go The readings of the chart over 20,000 even Master Yoda doesn't have a Midi-chlorian count that high No jedi has
