This might be my favorite style of DIY drawbar. Really compact, not too tall. Nice design. Great job. As imitation is the best form of flattery…. I will be copying this 😎👍
Hi Colin, I know I'm late to the party but I'm looking for the first part of this project. I'm thinking of a similar unit for my new PM932 mill. I've seen Mr Presley's vesion and also pragmaticlee's version. He has a similar machine to mine but I'm not enthusiastic about his operational function. I prefer Presley's version. Do you have a part one of this build and if so where is it? Thanks in advance. Regards from Canada's banana belt. 🤞🇨🇦🍌🥋🇺🇦🕊️🇺🇲👍 I think I found it but still seems like a huge jump from your beginning to plan it in AutoCAD to where you're building ot in what I perseve as part 2.
You can buy a power feed for a mill and adapt it to your mag drill handle and have power feed. I'm working on mine now if you'd like contact me and I'll send you some videos of it at work
on yer setting tool, its possible to get "micrometer heads" just the threaded bit with the thimble and barrel so you can mount that and use it to adjust the cutting tool.
Glad I stumbled across your channel these stops are premo buddy absolutely gorgeous work look forward to binge watching your channel as soon as I wrap up abombs been watching machining content about two years been doing it myself for about a year learning as I go picking up all the tips I can as I watch and work thank you for taking the time and effort to video this and post
Very good job I am very interested and I have learned many thanks for sharing is what I was looking for I have a mag drill and I needed to do a borin line with the mag thank you very much for sharing
Sorry to see that your business is suffering. Hoping you can hold on until this junk is over! Great to stay busy improving the shop while you are waiting. Missed you - I've been out of metalworking for 6 years since my Dad passed away but getting geared up to get back into the shop!
I'm still perplexed on winch position on the gantry beam. I may build a winch saddle mount over the beam with bearings so my winch wire does not bind and directly meets the pulley block on the lifting end.
Like your crane project...mounting the 12 v winch on top really helped solved my winch location delema. I may use a fair lead or roller to prevent a winch wire failure.
New subscriber here,,nice fabrication. Thx to Ray, his channel lead me to yours. Now to start fabing up one here at our shop. The kit's like the one's at Priest Tools are way out my retirement budget, and to over designed for a mom & pop shop,,Thz for sharing,,,Bear
Gidday Shagger, about to mount a fly cutter on mine and i thought i'll have a look on You Tube if any one else has done this. The only thing I'd change on yours is the steel base the mag base mounts onto. I'd go 1 inch thick, thicker it is the stronger it hangs on. nice work though.
I did that untill someone walked by and tripped over the plug end and everything came crashing down! So I took the magnet off installed insulated spade connectors and added a few feet of wire enough to get magnet out of the way safely. Then cut a 1" plate to put in the magnets place bolting it to the drill motor. Even a power bump and it will fall. And by lengthening the wires it still ran. Was a newer drill with circuit board in it. Good luck! Nice work.
Good evening great job compliments I love it kindly could you send me the drawings with the relative specifications and the model and measurements of the pneumatic piston thanks regards Valter Italy
