Paul Young was born in South Manchester in 1947. He was singer of the 60's beat band "The Toggery Five" and "Sad Café" which had several hit singles in the 70's and 80's including the top ten hit "Every Day Hurts". In 1985 Paul joined Mike Rutherford (Genesis) to become a full-time member of "Mike & The Mechanics, and remained with the band until his untimely death in 2000. Unfinished material has recently been recovered from his home studio and is now available for the first time on CD and MP3. The "New" album titled "Paul Young Chronicles" is now out, and the "New" single "Your Shoes" written by Paul Young and Mike Rutherford is also out now which means that for Paul Young fans everywhere, the dream is still very much alive!
Another exceptional production and performance by an exceptionally talented Supergroup. Even with their apparent world success, I am of the opinion that their music is artistically underrated. Paul Young is not with us anymore, but his inspirational message and voice will go on into the future, far beyond what we can imagine. Let's just celebrate it!
PY should av been the next genesis singer after phil...loved ray wilson but this guy had it all...fantastic vocal range ballads soft power...was so sad when he passed away...as good as they still are the mechanics were never the same ...a truly magnificent performer...
[From the CD-single "Another Cup Of Coffee (collectors edition)", 1995] I saw the lap light from your window I didn't think you were home, sitting there all alone So I came up to your room to ask you why Why did you hurt me so, why did you have to go, away I never wanted anything in my life Not until I meet you, I thought you'd see me through All the bad days that I had before I meet you Something in the past, never thought it couldn't last, forever There's one thing I can say, every day, how I miss you Oh Oh, Every day that I'm without you hurts Just a little bit more than, more than I've been hurt before Every day that I'm without you hurts Just a little bit more, oh oh oh Now I look down from your window I see a young man across the street, he looks something like me And he's walking with his head down to the ground Did you want to hurt me so, why did you have to go away, hey There's one thing I can say, every day, how I miss you Oh Oh, Every day that I'm without you hurts Just a little bit more than, more than I've been hurt before Every day that I'm without you hurts me Just a little bit more
Será que não há aqui um equívoco? Que eu saiba, Paul Young, está vivo e bem vivo. Essa voz maravilhosa ainda não se apagou.Não acreditam? Certifiquem-se.
