@@claudiaholzer-y7z Hi im not 100% sure to be honest but I don’t think it dose it’s just an indicator for you, you would have to put the angle in to something like strelok pro or a kestrel! Would be good if it did do it for you 😳maybe they will do something in one of there upcoming updates 👍
@@243-dai cheers mate looks like you have yours spot mate from that shot on the fox the other day🎯👌 I guess this morning could have been a bit better but pilot error wind and shooting off the window bag probably all play a part in it not being bang on central, but you can fiddle with things to much🙄 was good enough I reckon 👍
@@nimrod260rem3 Most definitely good enough. Wind is the one to master, your shooting off the window bag is far better that what I would be able to do.
Would you recommend one of these scopes for everyday stalking? They seen reasonably priced! And 90% of my stalks are all ealry mornings. Looking to treat my self next year on a new setup in 6.5, and just wandering weather these would be a credible scope?
@@jameshayton8469 l would say a definite yes, the overall daytime image still isn’t up with the top end dayscope! But it’s low light ability is way better clearer image than a top dayscope I would say, obviously using it in deer legal times of the morning and evening plus if your interested in recording your stalking shots it’s great. And if you go for the lrf model you can stretch the shots out a bit if you get the right information put in, or just using the built in lrf to determine how far your target is without having to carry a separate lrf! And last but not least you can use it at night for foxes e.t.c👌👍
Nice one , How you finding the Alpex ? Ive put one on my 17 Hornet and too be honest struggling with it a bit ... weather i need to alter the BC or speed .
I’m off out tonight with my hornet not been out of the cabinet for a good while, gonna try and get a few longer range bunnies👍 sorry I digressed there, I get on fine with the old Alpex and the new 4k! Sounds like you say maybe alter your speed up or down whatever the case maybe I had to on the 260 rem👍 cheers
What do you make of the lrf? Its looking inconsistent in some videos, including this one. Its like one little twitch of the scope and you've got a 30 to 50 m difference
I’ve tried and tested a few times now seems fine if I miss its pilot error or wind not the lrf, never tried it on air rifle with shorter distances so can’t comment on that
@rflood morning I think the furthest shot is on that video with the pard which is 269 yards with the 223 but if you watch the latest video I shoot a steel gong at 365 yards with it obviously using the lrf to check the distance but also check and compare the distance to make sure it’s correct with the leica rangefinder binoculars. Good luck with yours if you get one I have found mine easy and good to use so far🤞👍
Thanks for the replies, very informative. One last question for you! How do you find the battery life? I'll be using an external IR source so I won't be using the IR on the unit.
@@rflood well I’m normally out for about 4 hours and I leave it on standby all that time only turn on fully to take a shot and record, and am using external ir! Battery has never run out on me probably about half left or just below, and obviously you can just stick another 18650 in 👍
Thanks David I’m sure I could tweak and play with them left right up and down but at that distance which I know isn’t miles but wind plays its part and pilot error so I’m reasonably happy with it and will leave them be👍
Nice one Mick, nice to see a comparison with 2 different rifles and scopes. I use a .223 and bought the Alpex LRF when it came out. I've not even had a chance to set it up yet 😂 in your opinion which of those 2 scopes is best and easiest to set up the ballistic calculator. I only use factory ammo as well.
Thanks Jim, to be honest they are both easy to set up, and when it comes to the ballistic app the main thing is to get the correct information in, but even then it’s always wise if you can to go out and test it on paper or the gongs just to see if it’s all good mate! I like them both and honestly don’t think you would go wrong with either 👍
@@nimrod260rem3 to wobble like that and hit makes you a great shot. Getting stable to do precision shooting is tricky. hard to interpret shots when there is wobble factor... Sometimes when I touch my rifle it feels like it's turned into a paint shaker
Yhea the low light capabilities are good but still not the image of a decent day scope in normal conditions especially when you pump the mag up! Good that you can record all in one package though 👍
