The finished size of our quilt approx 53¾” x 40¼. The quilts may vary in size depending on the wof and selvedge size. All the measurements and step by step instructions are on the website www.alandacraft.com/2024/09/25/baby-quilt-no-binding-no-pattern/
Excellent tutorial!❤. This is perfect for when you get the itch to stitch, and super easy to stockpile for gifts all year! I love making beautiful gifts.
I have made many a purse set sewing a zippered pouch and tissue holder with two contrasting fat quarters or extra yardage or gentle used shirts or dresses. Makes great sales at flea markets and craft fairs.
Fantastic video. You got right to the point without all the unnecessary extra chit-chat. The fabric choices are lovely, and the finished quilt is beautiful! Thank you ❤
I am all thumbs with binding, I like that you quilted just the center. I can self bind it with the backing instead, or skip the quilting, stitch it rst instead. Then do some quilting. I thank you for getting my brain going!
Simple and lovely! This is the same method I use for making charity lap quilts. One difference is that I find stitch in the ditch too frustrating to stay close to the seam, so I use a serpentine stitch (which I lengthen and widen a bit). The result is the same, but it doesn't matter if I stray from the seam line.
This is a very cute quilt that can be made quickly. To make the quilting easier and quicker, instead of using in the ditch - try lengthening your zig zag stitch to make a curved line. It looks great and you don’t have to worry about staying in the ditch.
Thanks for showing this simple quilt. I love the blend of pastel pinks and blues together. This is a great beginner quilt or when you're short on time. If you're like me and have trouble staying "in the ditch" then stitch a ¼" either side of the seam. Use a variegated thread to add a little bling to the stitching. This is also the perfect quilt to use all of those fancy stitches you never use on your machine. Set them to a moderately large size and sew them down the center of your seam lines. You'll add interest to the quilt top and you're reinforcing the seams at the same time...great for kids quilts or those that will get heavy use and frequent washing.
Can I ask your opinion on Christmas stockings, should I use wadding/fusible fleece or not? I’m wanting to keep the cost down so thinking lined should be ok without? I was hoping you had a video on them but couldn’t find one, you’re always my go to first! I’m also doing some Santa sacks out of calico, it’s just a shame I can’t sublimate on them with their cotton content.
