~ One has to remember that the shell was formed by the creature who once lived in it, & it was formed in the ocean water, so basically the sound resonance of the creature's life memories are stored in the shell, much like when a person dies & all that is left is their skeleton, to tell a story of who they once were.
Fluid dynamics. Air is like a fluid in its motion. It has to go and be somewhere. The only thing I would like to know about is how semi circle flies. With a smaller propeller on the top but If im right thing then i could see how it would create a suction effect. Instead of a lift.
Good research and topic, but it's overanalysed... Just put your cupped hand over your ear, your hear the exact same thing as a seashell with no smooth surface. The ambiant sound just gets trapped and mumbled with itself a bit, which kinda replicate the effects the wind has on sound by shifting the air

Not true because I used to listen with the conch shell we had when I was growing up and I was at home no where near a beach and I still heard the ocean.
