Over 3000 years, buddhism is De-volved into a religion. A set of texts. It began as a major rebellion of doctrine, from a Man with extreme bravery and self-enquiry, living in a world of Hindu doctrine. Every religion does the same. It tries to contain, explain and categorise transformation…. All it does is repress Man.
@thebodyclock1
@thebodyclock1 21 час назад
Its all limited by scholarly explanations.. and the unfortunate fact, that when explained like this, it does nothing to entice Man from living without limitations (chasing materialism)…. The problem is, you are trying to separate and divide the world of buddhahood from the normal world. But, a Mind cannot perceive or distinguish the difference/ benefit therein of going through awfully boring practices and arduous philosophy and scriptures…. And no real, tangible qualitative gain. They see you guys, wearing red outfits, and don’t see how you are any different or any better off… or any less subject to suffer. Which you aren’t. You’re exactly the same.

I came to Buddhism after the loss of family members and friend I have struggled with it since 2008. In my perspective I’ve come a long way in quieting my mind,!not getting caught up in difficult emotions , helping others, and just being more tolerant and patient I’ve done a lot of reading but not a lot of meditation. I find it challenging. When I listen to speakers like yourself I feel like I’m not a scholar how am I going to learn and remember all this material. Just wondering if you had an opinion about that. Is the journey to Buddhahood. still possible to reach enlightenment with lacking a good memory Thanks

🙏 (yum!hum...) Apparently, "I" am the first viewer/"person" willing to reveal & confess something of the extent of my relative/obscured view of life by self-imagining & thereby creating a temptation to reply, and then accepting the bait and following through on "my" temptation to comment ... (whereas the wiser, more stable, grounded & awakened "students" have already realized the egocentric folly of replying, or of otherwise imposing strings of crunchy, crumbling word-symbols upon this quintessential quantum Field of empty/pure Whole-y Reality-Awareness an imposition of "my" own deluded obscurations.) "My" comment: [God knows from whence these words have been pilfered!]: Through a purported 64 years of an alleged "life" in a so-called "body," this one has had many occasions, if not obligations, to listen to multifarious levels of Western "civilized" childish poppycock of the sort that countless herd-aligned sheeple have been convinced is worth sacrificing their lives for, (along with the lives of legions of other gullible, herdable, humanoid sheeple), this presentation has induced "my" current culminating peak of inner subtle life-giving warmth in appreciation for the degree of unaffected trust-inducing compassion-saturated clarity in "your" verbal guidance freely offered to all constituents of the greater whole called "humanity and all life on "Earth ." "My" fakey-flakey alleged "I" is likewise moved to acknowledge all the teachers and bearers of widest open wondrous truth-awareness who have skillfully modeled and shared such well-chiseled pristine truth expressions to your ears, eyes, & mind, thereby contributing to, and leading to, your current truth expression which reflects and reveals the excellence, value, and success of all those prior teachers who imbued the graces of awareness of the Vast eternal Empire of Emptiness upon "you." Mahalo, and Bravo!

Excellent job, I would like to add for those who wish to know Sutras of the Third turning of the wheel of Dharma; 1. Avatamsaka Sutra 2. Lankavatara Sutra 3. Saddharma Pundarika Sutra 4. Sutra of Perfect Enlightenment. 5. Kalachakra Tantra. Other writings I recommend for a proper understanding of Buddhas teaching of enlightenment are the Vajrayana writings of Nalanda university head monk Shantarakshita who founded Samye the first Buddhist Monastery of Tibet. Read the Madhyamakālaṅkāra it is his crown work. If you are not so foolish to be closed minded then I recommend you read the Mountain Doctrine of Dolpopa an Awakened Tibetan Lama of the Jonang lineage. I recommend the teachings of historical Bodhisattvas Vasubandhu, Asanga, Atisha, Naropa, Padmasambava, and last but not least Lama Taranatha. I pray for the enlightenment of all beings, I pray for the healing and joyful liberation from suffering in samsara. I pray all be enlightened. I invoke those cosmic supremly enlightened ones དང་པོའི་སངས་རྒྱས། Samanthabadra, MahaVirocana, Vajrasattva, Sangyé Menla, and the Wise and Compassionate Bodhisattvas Manjushri and Maitreya to inspire the growth of bodhichitta in all of us and help us all to Bloom and Awaken Together to the pure luminous loving ultimate reality of infinite knowledge, potential, and possibility in the vast sky emptiness of nirvana sufficient to manifest all phenomenon.

this 3 channels are joining at the bottom approximately 4 cm below the naval. so when you inhale through left and right nostril at the same time- air goes down and through the bottom connection gets into the middle channel which from it comes out (Bon tradition)

From a Mahayana perspective, Liberation is means no more involuntary rebirth in samsara. This is the result of fully realizing two-fold emptiness, the result of the Mahayana path. It means you have purified all mental karmas, mental karmas being the cause of rebirth if not purified. The attainment of Arhats really has no business being called Liberation as they are still lashed to the wheel of Samsara. Arhathood is freedom from attachment to the sense of a personal self. But two fold emptiness is not realized by Arhats and they have remaining karmas which cause subtle dualistic fixation or attachment. Bodhicitta is necessary to attain Mahayana Liberation, whereas Arhats can realize "small" no self simply for their own sake. Nirvana is the same attainment as Liberation, it is the cessation of all dualistic fixation due to the complete exhaustion of mind karmas. Ceasing of dualistic fixation means emptiness of all phenomena is realized. This is the stage of a Wisdom Buddha. To be distinguished from a Rainbow Body Buddha which is a further stage that was attained by Padmasambhava. You covered most of this but I think there was some confusion especially around the term Liberation and what it means.

Hi Ben! I understand what you are saying and appreciate your input, but I have never read a book or heard a teaching that characterized Arhats as being bound to samsara. The defining characteristic of an Arhat is to have "defeated the foe" of the three poisons and to be liberated from taking birth again in samsara. In their own texts, they most commonly use the example of a candle (representing consciousness) being blown out. The distinction is in the terms, "liberation" vs. "Buddhahood" or "omniscience." I would like to hear why you say that the attainment of Arhats has no business being called liberation because I can find no scriptural or traditional support for such a statement. Another subtle point is about the obscurations abandoned by different levels of attainment. You seem to be saying that because Arhats do not overcome subtle dualistic fixation, they do not attain liberation. However, subtle dualistic fixation is defined as an "obstacle to the attainment of omniscience" and not an "obstacle to liberation." Do you agree that Arhats fully realize the absence of a personal self or not? With that realization, do they transcend the three poisons or not? If so, who is it then that would be bound to samsara? By what mechanism would they be bound? I think that this is mainly a disagreement about terminology. Tib: Thar pa is most commonly translated as freedom or liberation and refers to liberation from samsara. It is precisely described as the state attained by an Arhat realizing (merely) the absence of a personal self. It is distinguished from full enlightenment or "great nirvana" or "the state of omniscient Buddhahood" which is attained by realizing the two-fold selflessness as you stated. Even the term Nirvana is used in the context of the Arhats' attainment and is qualified by calling it "great" or "supreme" nirvana when speaking of Buddhahood. The difference lies in the obscurations being abandoned or not by these two antidotal realizations. The realization of the absence of an individual self abandons the "afflictive obscurations" and the realization of the two-fold selflessness abandons "cognitive obscurations" which results in the full enlightenment of a Buddha. best wishes, Justin

i took this from the book -of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche- The Tibetian Yogas ofDream and sleep. this practice related to Bon traditidion and the breath used as a part of guru yoga. Eglish is not my first language and had to tranlate the piece. so could be some mistakes-------------------- first 3 breath- alternate breathin, me start from right hand and right nostril.. close it with middle finger, thumb pushed to the base of the small finger. breath in green light through the left nostril, breath out through the right. do 3 times in and out. women vice versa- left hand to the left nostril, green light in through the right nostril. men have right chanel - white, left red. women right red, left white. breath out throgh the white canal, with light blue air - (vind) ilnesses,obstacles associated with masculine qualities, obstaclec and sadness from past. Second set of 3 breath- change the hand and nostril and do another 3 breath in and out. this time imagine all obstacles with feminine qualities comes out from red canal as a light pink air, also ilnesses (bile) also sadness ans obstacles in future. The Third set for men and women- place palms up, left on top of right through BOTH nostrils breath in green air imagine how it moves down on both sides through the canals, to the connection of all three canals which is on the level of 4 fingers below the naval. on exhail imagine air moves throught central canal and comes out throug the crown. 3 times in and out. imagine that all predispositions to the ilnesses comes out throug the crown as a black smoke. also it is (mucus) ilnesses and all sad and obstacles related to the present
