I was able to get this done on June 1st of last year. Undoubtedly one of the scariest things I've ever had to undergo, but I'm so grateful to God that he was right by my side from start to finish! 💙👏
@@rou2436 was it for an open bite? if you’ve already went through with it how was your surgery if i may ask and what was your recovery time? my orthodontist and orthognathic surgeon did say that i may go through with jaw surgery if the braces don’t work out for me/correct my open bite/lip incompetence so im just trying to learn more about jaw surgery in case i really need to have the procedure lol
Do you screen for idiopathic condylar resorption? That one 3D image of the open anterior bite strongly suggested Condylar resorption to me and not just an underdeveloped lower jaw!
Can my insurance cover all the expenses cos i cant chew food very well and felt the pain Everytime i chew.. pls i need help.. who i can email and take a look at my situation..
I went to an orthodontist for facial pain, jaw pain, pain at the base of my skull, headaches that have plaqued me for years...really bad the last 3 years. Could the position of my jaw and teeth be contributing to this? I am 40 years old. The orthodontist said my upper jaw is narrow and doesn't line up with my teeth on the perimeter. Also have a crossbite and a class 3 underbite. I got seem to have all the whammies here. Have you treated people like me with these conditions with surgery, and have they really got better? I am not looking at this for cosmetic reasons, it's for better function which i hope can relieve pain.
These Class 3 Malocclusions look good, If there were a Class 4 or 5 that would be mine. Wished I would have gotten it repaired, but I am too old and my first Ortho was a jerk.
I'm getting upper and lower jaw surgery with chin surgery I believe in January. I meet my surgeon next week. It's not for cosmetic reasons though it's for my health because I struggle. I have severe overbite and double crossbite and TMD I'll be making videos on my journey on my channel :) this helped thanks!
Thanks Kayla! Good luck with your surgery! I am sure you're in great hands and you will enjoy the outcomes. Sounds like you are having a type of surgery described in this video, take a look: Class II Correction (Overbite) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nuO4cs6x2lg.html Please share your videos on our facebook page! We would like to follow your journey. Its going to be amazing!
I have a long face I hope I can visit your clinic someday to consult my problem with my teeth and face structure.. looking forward to know about how it cost for the whole journey..thanks
Great question! Correction without surgery is possible but it depends on the severity of the malocclusion. Severe forms usually cannot be corrected without surgery. We wrote an blog about some alternative options. Please take look at the blogs on our website for more information. yorkortho.ca/alternative-options-to-orthognathic-surgery/
