Thanks for posting this build - I have a lead on some dc2 alcantera front seats ( expensive) and I have been stressing on the potential color mismatch compared to the stock type k dark grey interior of my hatch. after seeing your post the front seats seem the match “well enough” for a daily driver.
I have 530i and i feel like everything is pretty much the same. Running 30mm spacers in front, and 235/40 tires. They touch sometimes. And its lower than yours but i am going to raise it to your height probably, because i am getting old, haha. Planing on running 225 in front to get 35mm spacer. Did a measurement with 40mm spacing.. looked so hot 😂
Nicely sorted. 👍 Great that someone is making stuff like this too. And something I didn't even know about. The EuroDM and JDM don't have this latch motor at all. You can only open the boot with the key or from the cable release lever on the inside. I suppose that means the most common issue can't be one in the first place. 😁 The US also got those extra buttons for no obvious reason on the front door handles to unlock. Which of course made them easier for scumbags to open. Though to be fair the locks were so crap you could open them with a nail file... I got around that when I discovered the rear door handles on the four door DB8 were the exact same size and fit to the front, only without a lock, so I installed them. Looks kinda cool too. Though if the battery or door poppers or fob battery fail, you have to crawl in through the boot. Ask me how I know this... 😆

Nice job! He got a good price for one of those in the US. I'd be keeping it. Always liked the US only rear seat base with the plastic tray divider. Tried looking for one way back in the day, no luck. Though I did source a brand new in box USDM R centre console and unstamped Acura badge. 🙂 I've long wondered why the USDM got the 15 inch wheels from the JDM E9 Civic R rather than the 15's from all the other markets. US/EUDM front owners are really lucky with headlights. So many aftermarket options. JDM lights are hard to source, daft money even for crappy ones and no aftermarket options.. Your yellow looks really very nice.

Nicely done. 👍 Yeah it looks so much better. Over the years I've seen a few bumpers repainted back and front where they didn't mask off those areas and it looks wrong. I can see why some don't bother as it's a fiddly masking job. The USDM rear bumper seems identical to the JDM. Euro bumpers are slightly different, have a foglight for a start and a different shape for the number plate. What is different is the USDM has that extra steel beam and padding under the bumper, which JDM/EUDM don't have. Different crash regs I suppose? Interestingly, or not 😁 Original JDM and EUDM hatch struts are made by Showa(who also made the OEM suspension/shocks). I don't think Honda stock them anymore, but when they did they were also 100+ quid each. Those Rock Auto struts are a bargain. Funny how the USDM oem ones aren't Showa, but a different Japanese manufacturer.
Thanks man! yeah i believe most USDM cars have a crash bar and foam around it. I actaully didn't know the japanese struts were Showa but thats pretty cool, maybe it was a late model thing.
