Great point! In addition to what I said about "Snow Mode" that in "Sport" the EV only option is not available. The car will automatically switch to HEV.
@@DIYDadChannel depends on how you drive.. if you accelerate hard yes the ICE comes on, I been driving in EV mode for 4 days now, charged twice, all on EV, but im not driving fast/hard, just normal.
Amazing! We just got our car 1 week ago and are still learning all the ins and outs. Happened upon a conversation about the battery frequently dying after parking for a vacation etc, which didn't even occur to us that this could be a potential problem. In my scramble to figure out what we would need to do to boost it, I just found you... this kind of tutorial is EXACTLY what I was looking for and I can't express how appreciated and reassuring it was to watch it! Thanks!!
You showed your vehicle going through a car wash.. I have a 2023 KIA Sportage with the same drive train and features. Several things you need to be aware before you go through a car wash that moves your car along while it is in neutral. The first is to be sure that after you put it in neutral, you must hit the " OK " button on the steering wheel. if you don't, the car may activate the parking brake in the middle of the wash which is scary to say the least. Hitting the "OK " button lets the car know that you intend to stay in neutral, and that it is not rolling away unintentionally. The second thing is to check that the wipers are in the "OFF" position. If you did not know and left them in the " AUTO " position, they will start wiping when the water hits the windshield. I have both of these happen to me. I love my Sportage also. One year ownership and 15K miles. 90 mpg so far. Great SUV.
