Such beautiful drums, Loving the drum play by the way one question please... Do you love gloss lacquer finish or do you have other thoughts such as satin oil or hard satin options. May I please ask what your thoughts are on that? Such hot and humid weather affects the wood over a long time or it doesn't at all?. Loving the look of Natural maple 😍😍
Thanks! I like the gloss finish how it is. You of course have to have a dehumidifier and constant temperature in the room to not damage a quality instrument.
WOW! Outstanding Playing! I've been building my own drum set and have been going back and forth on whether or not I wanted to build woofers. You have successfully convinced me to DO IT!!!
@@MarcelSchoenegge good to know. I was actually curious about that. However I saw a system that used normal bass drum spurs (legs) and just one rod on top. And I’m pretty sure that is the system I’m going to use. Although I am also working on a couple ideas I have to mount the bass drum to a rack system instead of using spurs. If I do that I’ll definitely use 3-4 rods.
One of the most musical sounding kits i've heard in a long time my man! And that bass drum tone, reminds me of the sound of Timothy Alexander on tales from the punch bowl. Great performance, and great sound!
nice played! I don't know if you have put effects on the snare yourself. or whether it is some setup of microphones that makes it sound as if it is "far away"? a bit of a shame if I must say so. but your toms are tight!! keep up the good work!
Thanks! I'm not entirely happy with the sound myself, you get one thing right and something else turns awry at the same time, with that many mics it's a challenge, but I'm slowly getting there.
Sweet brotha!! Well executed rudi's, flams, diddles and a flam-a-diddle or two in there, drums sound tuned tight, Great gear in those *_"DW's,"_* I can't see logos, but the 🤔 *bell brass* 🤔 sounds just like my *_"HHX stage"_* series cymbals, I can clearly see the good old standards in *_"SM57's,"_* 🤔 ( and seriously, dont take this the wrong way bro...., but please, please tell me, they aren't knock off's from *"WISH...,"* ) HOWEVER, I also can't see what your _"mixing on,"_ what your _"outboard gear"_ is, or any of the other mediums, like _"DAW's"_ or _"good old standard analog,"_ used to capture and preserve the mix, are. Having said that, and I am just curious about this... but with your talent and investment in your craft, you are selling yourself short on the final mix!! *You are the epitome of what a hard working cat can do within his craft,* just a smidge more concentration on the final drum mix, and DAMN sonnnnnn, *you'd be wayyyyy "fire" in your channel!!* *ANYWAY KEEP ON KEEPING ON **_"BROTHER DRUMMER!!!!!"_* 😎🤘🏼
Thanks mate! All the mics are going into a 16 channel Mixer/Interface (soundcraft signature 22mk) which feeds into Cubase. You are right, I'm still in the process of finding the perfect sound, but I'm slowly getting there!
All of this was fantastic, but the groove at around 5 minutes speaks to my youth and my influences. Kit sounds great. Is there a way we can hear the board mix with very little room mics? Thats I think your playing will be magnified
Thanks!! I indeed added a bit of the camera sound to the mix. Just the kit mics tends to sound too sterile in my opinion. My Solo #4 has very little room mics
