Thank you for (a little bit long but) great video :) Have you tested out Jazler SOHO? I know, that one is very expensive but very good also. We are talking about the mid version (there are 3 of them; SOHO web, SOHO Star and SOHO Pro) Star for €599, about $654 🤪 I'm thinking about starting a web radio so I'm checking out some playout's. Coming from an discontinued Jazler Radiostar 2 that still works very well despite they have stopped supporting it with updates, I'm thinking about something cheaper. I don't like Mixxx, now I'm checking out this RadioDJ that looks not so very different from Jazler. Any recommendations for a "home" radio studio?
Hi! If I set a certain category in the rotation to roll Random, but I set Custom Rotation Rules higher than the Global Rotation Rules, it won't work. And if I want the weak rotation to repeat a song in at least 10 hours but the Global rotation rule is set to e.g. 1 hour, it often repeats the song under 10 hours on Random to prevent repeating the whole category in a certain order. I wrote in the Support forum but I received no help to solve the issue. If nothing but waiting for a fix solves the issue, I'll switch to another software. Please help! :)
Unfortunately using Random is probably the worst logic to use. Try Least Times Played. I have rotations with custom rules set to two days out which is way higher than the global rules and it works great. But keep in mind that's only during the time that rotation is active. If another rotation with different rules is active and it's pulling from the same category, then songs will get played while that rotation is active.
@@RodericksRadioDJTutorialsevery hour I reload the rotation with an event so it begins from the start and if that is the case, I won’t do it then. The thing I want to achieve is songs from a category not to be repeated. Imagine songs A,B,C, are heavy rotation, songs 1,2,3,4,5,6 are medium and a,b,c,d,e,f are weak rotation and I want to achieve something like that: A1aB2bC3cA4dC5eB6fC2b1a and so on.😅
@@kris_tsochev What you are doing should work but not with using random. Each rotation line should have its own rules but I would use the Least Times Played logic. Set the minutes of separation as you desire.
@@RodericksRadioDJTutorials I don’t agree because if I add a new song in the same category and if there are three least recently played songs, the newest one will play as much as it becomes equal with the other older songs added and then they will begin playing again. Other users confirmed that issue in the forums too and therefore it needs to be fixed
This is disgusting how a so called Christian person fool people. The so called "Donation" is another lie. It is plainly a Purchase Payment and not a Donations for VB-Audio Virtual Apps. If You are forced to make a payment in order to get the items, this is a purchase. For Donations you have a choice of Not Give.
Well, first off, I don't own vb-audio.com so you might want to talk to them about your issue with their donationware software. Secondly, they do have two free cables and the other four are donationware. The choice is always yours.

I would have to disagree with the quality being equal. I have multiple radio hosting platforms and I think the paid servers are far better quality. This is mostly due to the bitrate. The higher the bitrate the better the quality.
It's great but a little confusing! look, No sound feed comes from my RadioDJ to Voicemeter and there's no Voicemeter Aux out even as it shows in your tutorials
Voicemeeter is a go between two or more softwares and sound interfaces. It's not needed for RadioDJ to operate but used rather to create a mix minus setup, generally what radio mixing boards have. If you are getting no sound from it, there are way too many reasons to list as to why. Try this out, work RadioDJ without voicemeeter, then play with Voicemeeter without RadioDJ to learn it. Then see how to connect the two and your soundcards.
I have a folder with 1300 sequentially numbered files. A program to play 3 time a day. is the a short way of making an event to play the next file in the next broadcast?
Hmmm, folder sync deals only with comparing a hard drive folder with a category in RadioDJ. What you are wanting to do is play files in sequence which could be handled with a "playlist". Off the top of my mind while driving, there may be a way to do a series of events to do what I think you're asking.

Hi Roderick, Thank you for your videos, I have truly learnt a lot. Can you advise on the following: When I repeat a folder of the same artist in a rotation (I want the same artist's music to play every 15min), the songs actually only play once per hour. E.g. I have a folder with 10 Rihanna songs and I want them to play every 15min between other artist's songs, but they only play one per hour. Hope you can help...thank you.
I have been using BUTT but cannot figure out how I can get my metadata from my Drs 2006 to show what the song is playing on my station. I got it to work twice but it isn't working anymore and I don't know why. I tried everything.
Are these individual songs? Make sure the file and folder of where the NowPlaying.txt file resides in, is set to Everyone when it comes to Properties and Permissions.
That option is based on your soundcard and it's drivers. If it was available in Win10 but is not in Win11, that means the drivers work differently due to the operating system.
Hi Roderick, thank you so much for sharing this information, it really helps us a lot, I used the RadioDJ, but now I changed to Playit Live, and I wish you can do one full tutorial about how to set up Metadata about that software.
I need this for my online radio station I have a rane one controller and wish I could connect it to do live radio but im not computer savy to do all that like you do, would pay to have it done get back with me.
Thanks Roderick. Roderick, how would I setup not an independent show source or DJ but a presenter who would be using the stations music for the show? They would need to see the music currently playing and history and be able to talk on the station.
Most people use a service like Teamviewer so the presenter can log into the station to control it. You would then need an audio line that can be sent over the internet or perhaps Teamviewer can send audio in real time. Try Feenphone too for audio over the Internet
Remember that your hosting provider will NOT want to allow remote database access from their servers so they may not allow you to use it. I've also tried using port 80 and port 443 but soon after my ISP (Internet Service Provider) blocked it due to bot hacking attempts.
so at timestamp 26:56 you have the metadata exporter open and there is a tab that says streaming server do you use that as i tried it and it is all grayed out
That is actually used to update your Icecast or Shoutcast server with what song you're playing. It's greyed out because it will later be in the paid version.
hey man Considering in using radioDJ and have our radio station transmitter and server completely remote. radioDJ server computer near the transmitter in the middle of nowhere. DJs will have two alternatives: 1/ live shows, your tutorial video explains 2/ recorded shows to upload to radioDJ server. Please explain how this can achieved. thanks
In that case you will need to have Teamviewer or RemoteUtilities or the built in Remote Desktop connection on Windows to remote in and transfer the pre-recorded shows to the system. You could also use DropBox or Google Drive. But you would need to upload/transfer the files to the system. FTP is another option as well. RadioDJ can play audio from the web so if you were to FTP the files to a webhosting account, RDJ could play it from the site using a direct URL to the file (just make sure the uploaded file always has the same file name. Basically overwrite the old show with the new show. using FTP)
I use WinSCP - google that. I may do a video on how I use it. Basically it runs in the background and it monitors my album art folder on the PC. If there is a change/new cover art, the new cover art is automatically uploaded to the website hosting account so it can be used to display the currently playing song.
Yes, hold down the CTRL key while clicking on the tracks you want to add then click the GREEN PLUS SIGN at the bottom of the Search list to add all the highlighted tracks to the Playlist
Hi, I followed the course for installing the Teaser plugins to the letter, and everything worked as expected. But now if I load in Teaser rotation it doesn't work anymore. has the solution. Thank you
Hi, thanks for the response to my request for help, then by Rotation Teaser I mean that if I create an event at a certain time of a Teaser created inside a Track Rotation, the director inserts it Random where she wants it at absurd times even after several hours unpacking all the programming. I also tried stopping both autodj. that automation but I didn't get any satisfactory results. I also tested the stop with the exact time whit pause but I got nothing. @@RadioEnigmaWeb The way the teaser works is in 4 parts: 1) a song must have the Hook In and Hook Out cue points set via the cue editor. If none are set the teaser will never fire off. 2) Of course setting up the Subcategories for the Teaser audio samples in the Teaser plugin settings. 3) Setting an event to run the Teaser plugin. 4) while the Teaser plugin is running via an event, it looks for songs that are in the Playlist/Queue waiting to be played that have the Hook cue points marked. If there are none in the Queue, the Teaser will not run. So basically the Teaser will only run if it finds a song or more with the hook cues marked sitting in the Playlist/Queue.
hey Roderick sorry if this has already been asked im running a version of Radio Dj on a new machine but its windows 11 is it still not compatible ? as rotations will not work and various other bits that work great on a windows 10 machine
