Hey, I'm glad you liked it! The dye used is Fiebing's Aqua Green, as shown in the video. I didn’t mix it with anything, and I used a cotton fabric to apply it. Keep in mind to use only a small amount of dye and apply light pressure

If your tool can't punch through 10mm thick leather with a mallet, it likely won't work with a press either. However, if you can punch holes using a mallet, the press should handle it too. Keep in mind that not all leathers of this thickness are easy to punch through-softer leathers are generally easier to pierce. Also, make sure the die you’re using is sharp and long enough to penetrate the leather properly.

Hi! I source my leather directly from a supplier in Italy. In Athens, you might be able to find some at Karanassos or Giakoumakis. Unfortunately, I’m not aware of any other stores selling leather retail in Athens. If the leather you found is vegetable-tanned, it could work well. I recommend asking for samples and doing a test before purchasing a full piece.

@@jamesw.3491 If you don't dilute the dye, the result will be much darker. However, you can certainly use a dauber for smaller projects.

@@EleanaWorkshop Yes and no. If you have not experimented enough with daubers, you are just assuming. Your project was not "light" because you used a large amount of dye in the sponge. The key is to using less dye in whatever you use to applicate dye. When you dilute dye with alcohol, there is not less pigment in the dye, just more volume for the same pigment. Lighter coloration comes from using less pigment. You get that effect by using a dryer applicator. You can see this demonstrated by some of the atelier channels. You can dye however you want. There are different ways to accomplish the task. There are other methods other than the one you choose to use.

@@cn-lo3dn thank you for watching my video. Leather dye is not like acrylic dye. The wood grain tools won't work with alcohol based dyes. The wooden sides comes as a pair and they are thicker than my leather stamps (9mm thick).

I used 2.3 mm thick cowhide. The leather needs to be sturdy-soft leather won’t work well for this bag.

Hi. When choosing machines for our business, it's important to match them to the volume of production and the size of our products. For small items like tags, patches, or small wallets, the Vevor press is sufficient. If you're producing larger quantities of wallets or small bags, an 8-ton clicker press is more suitable.
