24 years old | Bowhunter | Fly Fisherman | Aspiring Videographer
My life revolves around bowhunting and fly fishing. I do my best to capture my experiences with a camera, and edit the videos in a cinematic way to bring that "in the moment adrenaline" to the people watching them. I strive to make each video better than the previous one. All videos are self-filmed and self-edited. Based out of Connecticut.

Thank you! I love living here, I actually caught a bunch of bluefish before sitting in the stand this hunt, not many places you can fish and then shoot a deer a few hours later
@@theavidsportsman9490 hey I used to live in Bristol haha now I’m in Dartmouth mass I do the same go fish for albies and we open up October 7 so I can’t wait to be in the saddle
Hell Yeah! I've been out 4 times and two of them saw deer, just no shots presented themselves. Still early in the season, but that's a great way to start it off, congrats.
I hunt in Guilford, CT and had 3 does under my stand on Thursday. Could not get a shot off due to the fact they were on my back side. The season is early and I have time on my side..... Great job and Thank you for the videos!
The season is still early! I appreciate the kind words. And this hunt took place in Madison, not far from where you at, lots of deer in the area. Good luck this season!
Solid hunt! Congrats. That quartering away shot was devastating. I am from the area of this hunt but live elsewhere now and return to SE CT to hunt the public land. See you out there! Good luck this season.
I gave up regular fishing for flyfishing. Got tired of wind knots ruining my day so I put fly line on my large spinning reel and paired my reel with my 7 ft medium action rod. Works great. Nice thing is when I hook into a fish I simply reel it in
Thanks! I’d say just try to find the sand, I know that’s where you’ll likely find the sea robin, and wherever there’s sea robin, there will typically be fluke nearby. Definitely recommend using at least intermediate sinking line as well. But sometimes it’s all about being in the right place at the right time. Tight lines.
If you have waders or don’t mind getting wet then I’d recommend short beach or the autobahn society bird sanctuary on the other side. Quite a hike but some dudes I know hammer fat stripers on the fly constantly on outgoing tide over there
Just subscribed , nice vid , would like to know that fly in the beginning , name or where to purchase it , looks unusual with the blue flash in the tail , thanks keep up the great work please respond
Hello Ben, unfortunately I do not live in Tampa anymore, but if you reach out to me on instagram (@the_avid_sportsman) I'd be more than happy to share some spots with you that you can easily access and catch fish at.
I know no one wants to giveaway their spots but can you give me a rough approximation of where this is. Even with satellite view on google maps, I can't tell what is wade-able
