Life was not as easy then but many neighbors bonded together to form a community.I was lucky to have grown up in a similar neighborhood. Lots of kids and diversity.

This is an incredible presentation. One of the best comparative local history ones I’ve seen. Nice work.

Alan is a study in total class. Just superb as a musician and a man. It was a great honor to join him on stage.

What a wonderful presentation. It was facinating! I'm in Torrington CT now and learned of James Ashborn from a small plaque on the side of the road. Today I'm heading over to the Torrington Museum and see the two Ashborn guitars they have. It is quite coincidental that I've come to Torrington to pick up a vintage Magnatone guitar amplifier as I bought it online from a pawnshop in Waterbury and had a friend who lives in Torrington pick it up for me.

Quite an interesting collection of rare glass slide negatives. It was certainly a total thrill to see my hometown as it looked and the citizens who lived and worked there well over 100 years ago.Torrington was and still is a city of immigrants. My heritage was very well represented as Hungarians mostly lived in the south end Palmer Bridge St to be exact and the houses still exist today Kish Ragalye Lascko. It is nice to go back in time Thank you. Interesting. I had the wild idea that I would in my retirement take on making from scratch a guitar after having made several dozen archery bows that essentially were given away. This lead to falling down the rabbit hole with respect to all things related to the guitar and instrument making. Your video served as an excellent backstory for what I had acquired from reading history related to Martin & Co.
