You made a wise decision. That wasn't rain. it was a series of torrential downpours with many lightning strikes. It's good to know your luck stayed with you.
Good choice, that weather was just scummy. A week of rain here in the lowlands, which probably helped knock down the fires up in the mountains, but would've been a real hazard for camping. (PS If you want hypothermia AND a shower, there's a work party down at Long Beach this weekend.)
We have had soooo much rain ,thunder and lightening. You would never get dry and end up sooo sick! Wait you did get sick!! Rest time!!! You are soooo AWESOME!!!!
Oh geez I'm way too acrophobic for this!!! I didn't expect that this "civilized" part of the trail would be so scary. I assume you don't die or you couldn't have posted the link to FB.
Jen, you got this. You are showing strength in all that you do and choices you make. You children will look back on this and say "My momma was a kick ass woman ! " Your Matt is the best. He is saying the same thing. He has been there with you and knows first hand the challenges that are before you. Never doubt yourself, the trail provides and you and your tramiy are going to kill it ! I believe in you and all that you do. Keep inspiring, keep smiling and shine on my friend !
It will be a wonderful experience, no matter how far you make it. Do you regret the other trips because you didn't make it to Canada? I know the answer to that one ;) Don't forget to live the experiences, the miles will come and go, the experiences are what you will really remember. Have a beautiful journey, I can't wait to follow along!
