Maybe landing a part on broadway or something. but tons of people have successful theater careers. Maybe not super profitable, but money isn't everything.
I don't see why, as they said, they only just graduated from drama school and then just after this would have had the whole COVID nonsense which pretty much stopped EVERYONE working.
I don't think they're proud, lol. I think they meant to show how painful it was to continually audition because they don't even get union benifits. I think they mean they would very much prefer to be union.
Independence and greater professional autonomy. Union versus non-union is a choice, and there are viable reasons for both strategies. Why not be proud of what a person has determined is best for them?
