Just discovered this song, and although im a huge fan of Alanis bigger hits, this is amazing and makes me feel Anemoia Edit: wow! She was so young when she recorded this album wow. A talented an legendary singer!
Indeed, this is about as close as she come to JLP and a complete opposite from the ballad "No Apologies" which shows a completely different texture to her.
This isn’t real 90s music this is actually very watered down 80s music this album released in 1992 many people consider that year to be the 80s last year until more 90s like music came along when I was born in 1993 that was when the 80s were truly gone
I truly miss these original Alanis songs from Canada. I grew up with these songs and will never forget her beautiful soft voice prior to becoming an international smash celebrity with the Jagged Little Pill album release.
@@Jinaria101 that I would like to see, I am much bigger on Alanis, since we are the same age...but I do enjoy P!nk very much...but I agree, that is one thing I would like to see happen, them working together
Wow!! So different than Jagged Little Pill...but in a good way. Been a huge fan since the 90s. :) Rain, The Time of Your Life, When We Meet Again, and Can't Deny are my favorite pre-JLP songs by Alanis.
I've listen to this one and her very first one probably more than jaggid lil pilll and supposed former and all that other stuff ... Probably... This song if weird gooood
YASSSS! what alanis and people don't know, is if they dropped these albums today on a new album, it would be a fucking hit she would make millions off her earlier shit! I loved her way before jaggid little pill
there are like only 12 comments and that's because MOST are just like me, in my 40's I remember Alanis when she was the anti-establishment girl in the 90's and to hear this...wow! I had heard she did pop stuff but never heard it, are you telling me all that angry white female was just a gimmick is running thru my head right now lol! Wow she fooled me, I have to give it up, she got over on me.
What you just said is exactly what I said lol! She sold out in order to get a record deal and then came up with the angry white female gimmick! She clearly came into the game doing pop bullshit to make money or get a deal. She's a sellout, there is no question. Like I said, not many comments because MOST not all but MOST that hear this and are old enough to remember how big she was are thinking "wow she fooled me"
You all realize grunge was a pop movement right? It was mass mainstream. The whole image was a sell. Because everyone was established against the establishment so the establishment sold us the anti-establishment angst. So your fight the power as old as time is a pseudo-intellectual load of ... Well, just enjoy a song whether it's pop or not. For it's merit. Then, you really fight the establishment. B-sides baby. I've always loved a soulful voice. That's what I like about this song. I'll get off my soapbox as soon as you take off those tin foil beats knock-offs you look ridiculous judging the merits of art because of it's commercial value.
This album is better than her debut album. I love all pop music. But that bubble gum pop music kind annoying from her first album. I like this album more then her first one. Ya I respect her effort for sure and I love the pop music background a lot. It's just I not a fan of her voice being in the first album. Maybe it takes a bit of getting use to?
The Alanis she wanted you to know, when JLP was released, she did not really talk about her early Canadian pop music until VH1 did her Behind The Music
I really like this song...it is pretty amazing..even though Alanis did change starting with Jagged Little Pill, she still continued to use similar groove beats like this, such as You Learn, and Would Not Come ( from Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie for those who have never heard that song )
