Sprite has good utility and is also survivability. The utility falls off when your sprite dies off and you can't heal sprites, but for that disadvantage the effects are stronger. So it front loads the effects, which is great when there is no heal.

The probability of you getting only 2 or less casts of your ult with 75% crit should be p = 0.85*0.15 + 0.15 = 0.2775 = 27.75% (with 0.85 = 0.25 + 0.75*0.8). But to get less or equal 2 ult casts twice in a row is only (0.2775)^2, so around 8 %. Not impossible, but still pretty unlucky for sure. I hope you normally stay away from casinos ;P

I'll note that the Compass doesn't just choose a common skill. It can land on any available skill (though I hadn't had it land on an Ultimate yet, but Rares, definitely).
Regarding your comment about the useless rare poison card, I believe it's best to combo it with the other rare card that gives a percentage that any other damage source will also inflict poison damage, so it won't be limited to poison ticks only which is definitely trash for a rare card like you said. Edit: I wrongly remembered about the rare skills. Freeze poison was the skill that I was actually referring to.
I think this opinion stems from an issue of translation: previously, Poison DMG read "Whenever Poison damage is dealt" it does something. A recent update changed that to read "Whenever non-Poison damage is dealt" it does something (also clarified what it does: add more poison instead of what could be understood as deal damage of type poison). So the 0.7s do 10 damage is not what it does. All the rare poison cards can be seen on 8:53 Edit: after looking at it a bit more in-game: Poison DMG is still weak, so my previous though was wrong.
@@JerbilKonaiIt seemed that I misremembered the rare poison cards. What I meant was the freeze poison skill that scales poison damage per 10 freeze stacks, which was the skill that I believe would make a good combo with the bad rare poison card. I think this is the only skill that can make that poison skill decent, unless you're playing the spider, which may give the incentive to still grab that skill due to the crit chance.

This game is similar to Alpha League in many ways. Many things are exactly the same. Alpha is a more advanced game in terms of content and mechanics. If anyone is curious, they can try it first.
It can't be, the game is so bad and kingdom rush is so polished. It's either people ripping off the style, or the kingdom rush devs just fell off hard.
