I too read the book; I highly recommend it. It’s a very good perspective, coming from a child who gives us a view from inside. Her parents loved the promises, her grandfather knew not to trust the promises made by nazi propaganda.

Dr. Wafa, I discovered you two years ago on. Brother Rachid’s show. You represent everything I have always fought for. I struggled as a declared non-Muslim woman in Algeria… I left not because I was threatened but by choice because I was fed up and done with it. Since then, Algeria went into more rigid Muslim law. There’s still no proclaimed charia but you may face jail if you criticize Moh. It was not that way 2 decades ago.
For what seems like the past 15 years I have asked at just about every Starbucks I entered if anyone had read this book…I still have yet to find even one employee who has even heard of it. I loved this book when I first came across it and I’m still shocked it isn’t more widely read, especially by Starbucks employees. It’s a fantastic read and a remarkable change of a life perspective basically overnight. Truly inspiring! Mimi does a wonderful job with this interview.
