Welcome to Jacks Game Reviews :) I review games new and old as well as some gaming news and commentary in general but i do like to spice it up a little bit. Consider it a surprise mechanic.
Crysis 3 really shines when you go back through with all the upgrades you can change your play style and for the first time you'll feel like you're wearing an actual nano suit
I'm playing this in 2024. Played in 2018, but I dont know why but I couldnt get into it. But this time, i have a baby and enjoying the slower pace much more now. It's therapeutic for me. Such a good game.
Thanks for this. I just bought the PS3 collector's edition of the first game and I'm extra happy that I won't have to buy the silly collector's edition of the second game. It comes with a silly flash drive... LOL. People seem to just have given up at some point in the past. Just like GTA IV. Collector's edition of IV was amazing, of the V it was trash! lol
The ultimate game was written by the same writer as the ultimate spiderman comics and came out right in the middle of the comic run which originally ran from 2000-2011 if i remember correctly. It was an adaptation of an arc the came out about a year or so before the game. Most of the events have been heavily altered in the game.
My biggest issue with Marvels Spider-Man 2 is that the post game crime is too repetitive. It’s barely generic crimes, mainly dealing with hunters, symbiote hordes or the arsonist cult. Also, anytime there is someone who needs to be saved it’s always the same dude with headphones, you never save a women in trouble it’s always the same dude. Yes Marvels Spider-Man 1 post game crime was a little repetitive but at least there was more generic crimes like weapon dealers, drug dealers, break in’s, store front robberies etc. in Spider-Man 2 they completely removed store front robberies and I barley get generic crimes.
I just did a test, out of 10 crimes 9 were Hunters, Cultist or Symbiote hordes. Only 1 was a generic crime, but it turned into a fight against hunters.
Fun fact. This isnt the first iteration of free flow combat. Spierman on PS2 was the first. It had the same counter system and combo system. It wasnt as fleshed out but it inspired the Arkham combat
I'd like to agree with you jack but unfortunately I just can't. In my opinion the best Ubisoft (non farcry) game they've released were the Mario and rabbids RPG series
I might go back to the game I did buy it on release then just got slapped by every single enemy and was a bit overwhelmed by the game I put like 5 hours into it then just played different games and left it I’ll start fresh this weekend nice video man
Definitely Ubisoft's finest for a while Btw I've been wondering, have you ever tried Yakuza/Like A Dragon games? Most of them are absolutely worth playing
I was just playing Farcry 6 and looking at the shorelines and river banks the water is just a hard edged line at a distance. Came to a Farcry 1 video just to make sure I wasn't misremembering the water in Farcry 1 being better. It legitimately was better in FC1.
Gta 4 has horrible world design , depressing. It was a technical playground for the developers to test out features for gta v. That being said gta iv made up for it with amazing storylines , characters and consequences regarding it's progressive story.
Oh mate honestly imagine a 4 player co op survival mode that works with your mic so if you lads laugh the zombies hear you Just 10/10 material right there
Elden ring couldve cut the game by like 50 hours if they dkdnt make it the grind tough itd a 100 hour game but 50 of tjose hours are jsut you gling back to the same places to farm xp
Ive been binge playing through the series in order of release ive played 1- rouge and im playing through unity currently and man no matter if it's atrocious or one of the goats i still found some charm in each game so far and ive just been having so much fun with each one not gonna lie
Finally someone giving some much deserved love to Miles Morales maybe im looking in the wrong spots but man i feel like Spider-Man Miles Morales has been consistently thrown some fuckin undeserved shade and i never got it so glad someone finally gives ot the love it deserves fr
Miles morales in that universe in general is just… ugh… i love miles morales the character, but the way they used Peter to lift miles in Spider-Man 2 just left a nasty taste in my mouth. There is no reason Spider-Man over 8-10 years into his career should be dying nearly 10 times within a week just to be saved by miles morales over and over again. They are really trying to hammer in the “miles is a better Spider-Man” idea, and it’s pretty infuriating the disrespect Peter is getting… And i LOVED miles stand-alone game at that.
Agree with everything except for your Ultimate Spiderman take, which was the absolute worst anyone could ever make in all of humankind. Miles Morales gets bonus charm points for being more basic and cutting the fluff, while those are considered huge cons for Ultimate Spiderman? I don't get it. Easy S tier that game is, even if it is quite short. It is also extremely replayable, even more so than the newer games. So I disagree with that point as well. And you overrate the fighting complexity of Spiderman 2 while completely exaggerating how basic the combat was in Ultimate. There's not that much difference from my memory, but hey, I played them years ago so what do I know? Besides that, Spiderman 1 could also warrant a bump up on the list to A tier just for having really well thought out Green Goblin gameplay. And also the rogues in that game were great.
Well Spider-Man 2 just has way more going on you can manually control your webs combine that with light attacks heavy attacks air combos juggling swinging while holding enemys webbing enemys onto lampposts webbing up multiple enemys at once etc etc I respect that you disagree but maybe give both of them another shot via emulation or ps2 and I think your opinion will change slightly at minimum. That’s just me though maybe I’m just weird :D
Your review actually scares me! Because I'm learning to be a game developer myself & in my opinion, based on the things I've learned, THIS GAME SHOULD HAVE WORKED. You mentioned that all heroes play similarly, well yeah that shouldn't count as a fault because they all are made in the same game engine & it's pretty well done if you ask me. I'm not supporting their business practices by any means. I hate micro transactions just as much as the next person. All I'm just saying, if you ever wanted to play your favorite marvel heroes all together in one Triple A action game, it couldn't get any better than this. Not at least within the next ten years of technology enhancements. I have the ps5 physical copy & still play it & appreciate it for what it is.
I’ve always tried to make it clear I’m not a game developer, I’m just reviewing from a consumers perspective so I believe you about all of that, I’m sure you tear your hair out when watching a lot of game reviews like mine lmfao
@@JacksGameReviews I do actually 😅 but you did mention something that no other game reviewer did, that an avengers game on this scale, was never gonna work. Love your content btw ♥️
If you like the Bioshock and Systemshock games, you'll like this game too. In principle, the title could have been called Systemshock 3 if the plot had been adjusted here and there.
bought the game like 4 years ago. But only played a few hours and hardly levelled up. Found it a bit hard so gave up on it. But after seeing Furiousa last sunday i decided to play it again, as soon as soon as i got home from the movie. The by this morning i had levelled my character up completely. And then finished the main story. Then went and saw Furiousa again 2 hours later. Added a new dimension to the game after seeing the movie and some of the characters that were in the movie.
I’m replaying this in 2024. I wish they’d make another one just with a better story. I mean at times it gets repetitive but the game is just so damn good it doesn’t matter 😂😂😂 Edit: I literally typed that last part right before you said it
