Hello! I'm a pediatric nurse in Texas! This channel is for my recent obsessions and hobbies, as well as some nursing content/reviews. This is meant to be my creative outlet to get away from my busy life. Hope you stick around and enjoy!
I had the same thing happen. My subscription is like -13. I finally told one of the ladies who refused to sell me the glasses i wanted that i didn't care. Just sell me the glasses I wanted because my glasses will be thick and showing regardless of the frames I buy. She refused and told me to go elsewhere. I did and found almost the exact same pair and bought them. Loved them. Honestly, the workers who help you get your glasses are generally awful 8/10 times, so buying online has been a real life changer. Im almost 30 and married. I want large wide lenses because they help me have a wider view around me. I couldn't care less if it's "less attractive."
Asics runs short, narrow and shallow. Go a sizer larger and wide. I have to go 1 full size larger and in 4E and it's still not really big enough. so. i don't do asics. and I'm not missing anything. NB and Hoka are where it's at. Altra and Topo for that low drop. and Ecco for classy and good looking shoes that fit right and last forever. I'd never get Brooks or brands like that because they are high heels... literally the offset between the front and back on all their shoes is like 12 mm. That's nuts. I don't do anything above 6 mm. NB and Hoka are 8 mm at most. Some are 2 mm and 3 mm.
here's the thing tho. don't get too comfy. because they totally change running shoes every freaking year and it's very annoying. you find something that actually works, then when you need another one... oh no it doesn't exist anymore and the new version is nothing like it. welcome to running shoes. BUT. Hoka makes a version of the BONDI just for nurses.. and that thing is legit. not the best looking, but it's a tank. and very easy to clean and non slip. my gf is a nurse. i ordered her one when she graduated. good stuff. Other suggestions for nurses. NB More V4. Amazing cushion, stability and fit. Altra Via Olymus 2. Altra did good on this one.
I am a retired respiratory therapist and stood on my feet for hours doing bronchoscopies and literally puting in 5 miles a day in the hospital doing abg's. I love the Glycerins but I need an orthotic! 6.5 wide. 🙂 The Brooks Ghost is also good! I have bunions!
I really wish there were a RU-vid video that was aimed at buying glasses so you can see rather than how you look wearing them. I'll never be cute but I suspect you would be happier with you glasses if you paid more attentiom to Pupillary Distance and bridge size. I have trouble finding frames to fit my wide head and very small nose. Zenni has many frames but only a couple in Adult large with a 16mm bridge. Looking at your selections, I wonder if you paid any attention to the bridge measurement. I'm wondering if the glasses that gave you problems had the correct Pupillary Distance (I'm 64mm, you probably are not). A high prescription not properly centered is asking for headaches. Did you pay extra for the lightweight lenses on any or all? I have zero interest in colored glasses since I am a photographer and red, yellow or green tints really mess with your color vision. Did you consider the guides relating to face shape and frames that look right? Enjoyable video. Talk to your eye doctor about things to consider above and beyond "cute".
I have been a licensed dispensing optician for 45 years having started in my father's optical shop in 1965 and can tell you that plastic frames will almost always creek a little. I retired 6 years ago and sold my store plus moved 2000 miles away so now I order my glasses on line and find that Eye By has the best quality for a on line company.
Brooks 'Ghost Max' are the most comfortable for long hours on your feet!!! You truly feel like you are walking clouds. I had foot pain so bad that it was causing me severe leg and back pain as well. 'Ghost Max' is simply awesome !!! Also, if someone can't afford the whole price up front, you can choose from Klarna and another one where you make small payments. Klarna made it so easy to afford great shoes!!!!
I struggle to with the Hoka Bondin they were ok at the very first but not supportive enough. I live my traditional Dansko clog. I may try their sneaker. I need arch support for sure. The Hoka didn't give me enough support. Inhave medium to high arches.
So I can’t find the brooks glayceirene 19. The new ones good or bad ? And i recently got to know that there are shoes that can heal ur foot pain 😭😭😭 after joining the healthcare industry lol. Nothing matters only SHOES LOL. Please recommend me something sis. I’m a 10.5 with wide feet 🦶🏻. Budget is around $150-$160
Is it me, or were the more dense/harder soles on Athletic shoes from 10-15 years ago more comfortable and supportive. These thick white spongy soles are too spongy and offer minimal support for your body. I believe they started using this thick white sole to save money in production, but they are not the best for us (support wise) and soften/wear quickly. I’m thinking a chiropractor would agree.
I actually think the second Zenni glasses look the best on you. Sorry, just personal opinion. If the prescription is off though, then that's obviously no good.
Just bought my first pair after having a vein procedure done. Because I need blood going to my feet. So they killed off some of my veins. And since that. My legs hurt my ankles and my feet hurt. I super hope this will help. Just got today
Zen be on point lol. But damn u a -7 u. Hellas super blind lol. Glasses with Nose pads Hate it. Too. Nosies n bc break easy. That round one fits u perfectly
No uglier than Hokas yet they have a loyal fan base. Was looking at purchasing a pair of those bricks for Nursing school in white leather but couldn't find any in my size.
I switched all my tennis shoes to Hokas. I absolutely love them. Brooks are nice but I still love my Bondis. I'm thinking of switching to men's shoes in the Hokas since they said that men's are wider that's the only difference. Sometimes you can't buy Hokas in wide, and sometimes you can. I've had plantar fasciitis and the Hoka Bondis helped SO much!
I went from New Balance Fresh Foam to Hoka Bondi 8 Extra Wide version, I could not get the New Balance in a wide version in my country, like you I have a Bunion on my left feet, I walk a lot because I’m a Postman, with my new Hoka my pain is gone.😀
I worked OR residency & needed a pair to help my knees & feet. I ended up with Topos. The are not super cushioned, but the foot position with the cushion it has helped a ton! I’m also a LMT, & yoga instructor and do regular Lectrochi footbaths & massage & foot:calf stretches to help with pain. Great review young lady!
Try homeopathy from India..Dr p banerjee..your planter fasciitis will go away..will send you a phone number of a doctor incase you are interested..I had the same problem..he cured me completely in 9 months
My daughter recommended brook shoes because I have so much knee pain after just a few hours into my nursing shift. Then my feet starts hurting and nothing that I wear is comfortable. I got skechers go walk and Nike air. So glad to read good reviews on the brooks so I’m gonna go with those.
Thank you for sharing! So many great ones ❤ Mojave Ghost used to be my signature years ago. It's such a versatile fragrance.. You have a wonderful collection!
