As an experienced CP social worker who has been retired for a couple of years this really brings it all back to me. A superb documentary, thank you for posting it, I must have missed when it was on.
I do really think mum cares, I think she wants to be better and wants to be there for him but she simply does not have the tools to give him what he needs which is probably as a result of her own raising 🙁
That man was controlling and abusive. That boy was re-enacting with toys what he saw from his dad, his anger and beating his mum he witnessed from his dad. His dad didn’t care about these children except as possessions, he was dangerous. Yet he lacked the manipulative and intellectual level to pull the wool over everyones eyes.
This is a tragic story. These kids deserved better, that's for sure. And they deserved for their mum to get help in mothering them. Real help. Even after she frees herself from this man, the authorities are unable or unwilling to help her make it as a single mum? Are there no group homes where she could live with her baby and be supported in new motherhood? And where she could get on her feet and prepare to assume care of Toby? Did authorities even get a speech therapist for Toby? SLPs coach parents on how to play with their kids. But and dad don't seem to have gotten that support. Case in point: the expert observing Mike and Toby waited until the end of the 45 minute visit to inform Mike that he was doing it all wrong. And smugly, at that. I could go on. I have so many questions about what these authorities in Bristol did for the family. Hopefully they went above and beyond helping this family. But this film doesn't show that. Poor Toby and his baby sister. I hope they are happy, healthy and loved.

THE 50%THAT STAY ARE EVIL PEOPLE, ONE EXAMPLE IS THAT SENIOR SOCIAL WORKER, SHE IS DISPLAYING NARCISSISTIC TENDENCIES SHE LIKES THE POWER AND CONTROL. THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE KEPT A MILLION MILES AWAY FROM ANY FAMILY OR CHILD. WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE UK IS GOVERNMENT SANCTIONED KIDNAP. THE SOCIAL WORKERS ARE THERE TO SUPPORT, NOT HINDER NOR DESTROY FAMILIES, THE HUMAN RIGHTS ACT SPECIFICALLY STATES EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO A PRIVATE FAMILY LIFE. THE SOCIAL WORKERS ABUSE THEIR POWERS AND LIE, FABRICATE AND IN MOST CASE'S THEY COMMIT PURJURY IN THE COURT.
How do people seem to literally not know how to clean!!?? Clean up the toys = scooting them across the floor to the opposite wall. Cleaning up the dog shit on the carpet = putting what you can easily pick up in a piece of kitchen roll into the bin and say, "it's not going to get much better than that".
I really do not like when social workers are sitting talking to the parents when the child is right there! At one point the social workers call the family into their office and into a room, where they go ahead and talk about injuries to the child etc. When Dad raises his voice the manager comes in and says she will take the child out because he's hearing raised voices - I thought, 'that's rich'! If I were there with a child I would refuse to talk in front of them - whether at home or in the offices!
The way she was kicking all his toys 😡😡😡😡 and the visit, OH MY GOD. I don’t think my heart has ever broken so hard watching something. Never spoke a word. I have a 6 month old so probs hit harder for me but wow💔💔💔broke me even more that Little Toby was separated from his sister and still waiting for the right family. I’d love to know how he was today. Poor little man :( god I wish I’d never watched this 😢😢
I noticed when the dad was around females he became very defensive and egotistical..no so much around the men🤔 Perhaps he should have been seperated and had a male worker.. even though it was best for Tiffany to be away from such an aggressive controlling man. DV has to be taught and contraception. Some women are bullied into sex..
These social workers are saints. I'm a mum and our children are almost all grown. Ive never had DHS involvement thank goodness as im a good mum. I have always put my kids first as all parents should
I totally understand cleaning can be overwhelming and sometimes my house isn't spotless but it's not revolting. They clearly have developmental issues themselves not just the son

The dad is always yelling and angry, as well as telling his child to shut up when he is trying to talk. So….how is that not bad for their children? Learning disabilities or not, that’s not OK

40:39 This is exactly where they need the harshest possible words from social workers with the police brought in to give them a stern and no-nonsense talking to, along with the judges and the council as well - only a zero tolerance and zero patience “tough love” approach based on firm milltary style discipline will ever work in this situation

There would be no need for social workers if England returned to the Catholic Faith and became Catholic once again - as it currently stands, only martial law, milltary government and a police state can sort out England’s many problems
I’m a mum I have a 6 year old daughter from a previous relationship and an almost 9 month old daughter from my current relationship. It broke my heart a bit when I saw toby putting his bag on and Mike didn’t even look in his direction.
Can understand why would be better for baby to get adopted however think Tiffany should of been encouraging to keep Toby cos in reality there's good chance he won't unfortunately get adopted n think Tiffany with help n support n going to parenting classes n getting her confidence n self esteem bulit up think she was capable of becoming good mum which Toby would benefit more from having loving caring mum than bouncing around in care system
They r good sw however think in this case considering kid doesn't even have bed n then kid has bruised think sw should of taking kid lot sooner however loving caring parents were there's no corners about kids don't get this many chances coz sw use risk of future harm which means they might be cornend in future
However know that they r good sw who do what's in kids best interests rather that result in kids been taking off their parents n give to loving caring forest parents or give help so kids can stay with they parents
In UK it was Tony Blair who decided to give sw bonus for each kid they get adopted n it's easier to get kids adopted who come from loving caring parents
Sw take kids off loving caring parents n leave kids with abusive parents n sw r allowed to own their own kids homes n sw give kids to know abusive forest parents n put kids in abusive kids homes n unfortunately not all forest parents r in it for right reason as they make money from corrupt system just like kids homes n just to name few people who r apart of corrupt system judge cop's hospital school lawyers sw coz they make money from corrupt system n just to name few people who r aware of abuse in care system hospital cop's lawyers judges social workers cause they make money from corrupt system n adoption n kinship n kids being in care can cost trauma especially if kids r begging to go back home n society defend sw n discredit parents despite fact that mps undercover/ex/sw speaking about taking kids off loving caring parents n leave kids with abusive parents n society defend sw for not listening to kids even if they talking about being abused in care system n r begging to go back home n even if u adopted newborn baby it can still cost trauma which is why corrupt system needs to be changed to try n keep families together as along as it's safe to do so n if sw were taking right kids then no kids know by sw would be unalive by they parents look at what unfortunately happen with Arthur n baby P n baby star
Why the hell do they have a dog and why wouldnt the 1st thing not be to take the dog away and tell them they need to concentrate on their child im so so shocked this isnt the 1st option it would give more space and the place would be more clean also if they cant afford a tooth brush or a bed why should they be allowed to afford a dog
