THAT WAS JUST A BUNCH OF CHEAP AND LOUSY ENDINGS! Sending Zora into deep space is kinda disrespectful, don’t you think? GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, KURTZMAN BETRAYED US!
Up until episode 10 of this season, this was the point where the promise and potential stopped. The next 6 episodes were a dreary slog. The big selling point of the season, Q, barely appears for longer than 10 minutes throughout that time, and instead we get Star Trek 4, but done way worse. They could really have played with a lot of the ideas in this season, but it's almost like they were either afraid to, or just didn't have the scope or budget to do so. Still, this sequence was pretty cool.
Idk I found it too goofy and illogical. A Vulcan isn’t born with that logical mind, it takes years to train up. Disappointed and I loved previous SNW. I hope they don’t screw this up. Maybe let someone who knows Star Trek lore and maybe some basic science to write the stories?
Then you get 'The Motion Picture' (which I loved) but 'The Wrath of Khan' is what saved the franchise. Illogical plot and all. 'Strange New Worlds' is the 'Wrath of Khan' to 'Discovery's' The Motion Picture. It's a fun ride but you're going to lose some of those hard Sci-Fi elements.

When watching any episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds I am constantly reminded how good this show is; and that’s notwithstanding comparing it to Star Trek: Discovery. Indeed the disparity between the two series is so stark it’s as though one is set in a parallel universe to the other.👾
Honestly at this point might as well just call the brand dead. I had little hope for this to be good, but this far exceeds my expectations in terms of low quality. Just more devaluing of the brand into anything but actual star trek.
Brand. Not concept. Not philosophy? I bet credits to navy beans you judge before viewing. Thus dhow prejudice not evaluation. Precisely the opposite mindset to that advocated by Star Trek. Yet consider yourself the moral arbiter? How illogical.
@@davidsmith5523 They've managed to make one single star trek show out of 7 projects. Everything else they've made is them, shoe-horning the franchise into genres it doesn't belong in. From a Rick and Morty styled cartoon to The action show Discovery or the nostalgia based show with Picard. This new section 31 movie looks to be worse than all of it. I want star trek this clearly is not it. The brand of Star Trek is dead. Sad that this series is culturally irrelevant even with 7 separate projects. A complete failure once again from paramount.
@canadianguy1955 i see. Your opinions ARE interchangeable with FACTS. I have my reservations but can not say with the absolute certainty that you are availing that this project is without merit. Because unlike you. I have not watched the whole thing. How exactly did it end?

I'm 100% willing to put this amongst the pile of failed Alex Kurtzman star trek products before I watch it. The trailer gives me zero interest to tune i. I want Trek not this low brow action movie. But Alex Kurtzman's goal is to shove the Trek name into every single genre that it doesn't belong in. By not watching it i think I help the franchise. Hopefully by low viewership numbers for this and the new stw season. Sky dance sees they need to fire Alex Kurtzman and Akiva Goldsman. And hire more competent people who actually like star trek.
@canadianguy1955 I will not read all of your bileful reply as it is silly. What made me unsure. We have seen less than 3 minutes of a longer programme. Plus, we do not even know if that particular music is in the finalised programm3. You claim to champion Star Trek but burp out prejudice in every sentence. Precisely the opposite of Star Trek core philosophy. He is black on the right side. Can you not see? By all means judge the finished product Commisioner Lokai. But watch it first.

Completly agree. It's almost like it's becoming entertainment. We dark internet Edge Lords can hardly critique the lack of writing and poor acting if it's all like this...
Can we all just take a moment to talk about how bleeding ugly all the ships and Starfleet headquarters are? It all just looks like useless works of art rather than the fleet. The only good looking ships to come out of discovery are the enterprise and discovery itself. Some of those ships look like basketball hoops and the color palette is bleeding ugly. There’s futuristic and then there’s make your eyes bleed ugly.
Discovery had so much potential, nothing against the actress, but the writing made captions around her seem useless. And the forced SJW crap killed it for me. It wasn't a wonder of new ideas, but in your face. Take away from the great adventure of the journey, disappointed. Still have SNW.
