Weyerhaeuser is a bad company they clear cut rainforest in Oregon California and Washington they should pay for all the fires in them states because rhey clear cut the rainforest of them state
Harvesting techniques have changed monumentally since I was in the woods for Weyerhauser out of Klamath Falls. We were still hauling logs off-highway to the reloads at Bly, Camp 9, Camp 6, plus the 700 reload and the 500 reload, where the loads were transferred from the trucks to railcars. The locomotives brought the empties from Sycan every morning, then gathered the loads out to the train to Klamath Falls every afternoon. At one time, the Klamath Falls operation was the largest pine sawmill on earth. With all eight head saws running, they could process over a million board feet in 24 hours.
@@robertplant9694, I still miss it every day. WeyCo's Eastern Oregon Division treated their subcontractors very well back then. It was heartbreaking when the company pulled up stakes. I often feel that, if the opportunity presented itself once more, I'd jump right back in it. I still tell people how much I looked forward to the alarm going off every morning, 'cuz it meant I was headed to the woods with a group of guys that loved being there as much as I did. In this day and age, that's not just rare, it's priceless!
