These were pretty exciting to read back in the day. But now, it just doesn't hold up well. It comes off as a foreigner's view of Japanese people and a misinformed view of Japanese culture. But as a kid back then... wow.
First: Great video, keep it up. Second: 11:20 I'm already not huge on the standard "X-men uniform" for a variety of reasons, including lack of dynamic features, (i.e. capes, flowing jackets, or unique color palletes) it being the thing that the "students" graduated *out of* , and the fact Kitty Pryde _kept getting stuck in bland suits like it when everyone else got something cool._ ... But it looks absolutely awful on Logan and Remy. Logan is actually one of the few people on the X - Men that semi routinely wears the "team colors," and yet when you stick him in the standard one, it feels so wrong. It makes him look tall and slim, and like he won't immediately say something snarky about Scott's plans. I think I actually prefer his stupid tank top (not) costume. Much of the same applies to Remy, except swap "looks tall and slim" for "looks static and clean cut." The swamp rat needs his coat of tricks, or at minimum, to look like he just took it off. Don't put the "bad boys" in the monkey suit. Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.
If my brain is working this one had some nomad tie ins but I coukd be thinking of a previous or later big ass marvel cross over in my opinion the giant stupid tie in every property you make and run it 6 months force every kid without a job to start slinging dope on the corner just to afford the damnd thing kinda joking half joking on the sling dope thing but in my opinion the giant tie in crossovers were part of what made marvel great and part of what killed it and why it's now iwnend by a hate-filled agenda driven mouse hell bent on killing every creative property it did not originate like marvel and star wars and to ruin and make all thise properties as Trans a d gay as posiable screw a good story as long as it's gay and trans
Did you know that angel rejoined the X-men and then left the team in issue 148 because he didnt like wolverine because he thought he was too dangerous. So this is actually some neat callbacks to that.
this was good but very tiring as a comic collector. at least the xmen were sort of together. i remember not being a fan of Warlock back when i was a teenager. they tried to find the characters a home . they came back a number of years later and the transmode virus was handled a lot better in subsequent stories even into Abnett"s Guardians run.
Thanks again for covering this epic storyline. I wanted to wait until you had them all done before I watched them,I like your storytelling style,no nonsense straight to the point, and you don't waste time talking about nonsense, keep up the great work 👍🏽
That would've been interesting to see the Avengers headquartered in the same building as the FF. You could've gotten a lot of mileage from that concept alone.
My neighbor showed me this issue when I was 10. It was the first comic I read. Great issue, love the Madripoor trio sneaking in to Genosha. Jim Lee's art in this issue is among his best, IMO.
