Hi!! I'm so glad you're here. My name is Macy. I'm a dog + boy mom, wife, business owner, homesteader, homemaker, DIYer... the list goes on and on. I thoroughly enjoy creating something out of nothing, in any aspect. I will never get tired of learning new skills. & most of all, I absolutely love all the little pieces that make up my everyday life. I hope you will come along with me as I do all the things here on my quiet little corner of the world.
What state are you in? We just AI’d our heifer and we are hoping for a September baby! We live in Michigan and I’m wondering what your experience has been so far of you are in a colder region? Some have said don’t calf In fall/winter and some have said it’s totally fine.
I’m in Indiana! So far, so good! I’ll have to do a video soon to introduce our heifer calf and talk about our experience so far. Also, Kate from @venisonfordinner is a great resource for all things dairy cows.. she’s in northern BC so it’s wayyyyyy colder there than the Midwest and she just had two calves in Sept/Oct and has been sharing quite a bit about them. I have learned a lot from her RU-vid channel and Instagram over the last couple years!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! My husband is a nurse and they use permanent markers and dry erase markers and when someone accidentally uses permanent on the white board they use rubbing alcohol and it comes right off. My grandparents were homesteaders and you might appreciate a milking stool for your milking pail. The 3 legs make it so if the cow steps forward or kicks she simply steps between the stool legs instead of into the pail and it's super low to keep the pail off the ground for easier cleaning and raise it up to the teats. Thank you for sharing your lovely cow and beautiful experience with us!!! ❤
Definitely a simple pattern....easy for beginners...but it would be good to slow down in your speaking....there were times that I could not understand you. Slow down and speak clearly.! thank you
Would you mind sharing the measurements for the different sizes? I would love to try this with my 14 year old daughter that has started her a pet craft booth. I think this is a super easy beginner project for her
Thank you! I offer 4 different size in my Etsy shop and have a sizing chart listed there. The measurements for my smallest size is a 7x7 and the largest is a 16x16 :) hope this helps!
14x14 would probably be good on a large or extra large dog! I offer four sizes in my Etsy shop and have a size chart listed there. My largest starts out at 16x16 and will fit a great dane :)
@@summerdavis3437 thank you so much!! I only started sewing at the beginning of last year... practice definitely helps lol but fabric pencils/markers/etc. could be helpful to you as well!
I am not sure when you ask this but get a piece of notebook paper that has lines on it and just practice sewing on the lines or geogle practice sewing sheets print and practice on them. This will help you learn to sew straight.
@@sandypoe1 use the presser foot to keep the edge of the fabric even as you are sewing. It is not that hard to see straight lines. It is trickier to sew curved lines. A little practice should make you a pro.
Just subscribed, videos are great. You seem a lot like me and my wife. The type that was homesteading even before homesteading was 😎 cool. You look like you got your stuff figured out keep it up. Good luck!
Darla is a beautiful dairy cow! I have experience with dairy farming...well fed and taken care of. Is she a mid size Jersey? Beautiful markings...good luck with the homestead!
Thank you! This is one of the best milking videos I’ve seen. Seeing it from your point of view is a great idea! Im going to start milking my lamancha goat for the first time and this gives me confidence in figuring it out 💪
