Thanks for sharing your process. I have a heavy hand so I tend to erase a lot, but I also don't like tracing as I feel I lose some of the character of my drawing. I still haven't found my groove with this but maybe I should take example from you and give tracing another chance.
You know, it depends on the purpose. I never use tracing when sketching, only when creating large illustrations. I must say, using a window for tracing isn't ideal because it's physically inconvenient. I used to use a large light table for tracing, which gave better results, but unfortunately, I had to sell it before our move as it was too heavy. I'm planning to buy a new one someday.
