Hi, thanks for stopping by MWX. I am a Weather Event recorder from Central Illinois and was since 2015. Here you will see things such as Weather Radio DXing, EAS Events, and other neat things.
This is from February 24, 2016 because it’s all of the United States and on September 28, 2016, it’s says “United States” or “District of Columbia, DC”.
If you live in Chicago, you know that I-55 is the worst place to have an accident. It's the interstate that starts and ends in Chicago. Starts/ends in LaPlace LA. Even without someone causing an accident, it's still a VERY busy highway.
Interesting, the CEA standard says that receivers aren't supposed to _show_ the transmitter events (though they do get stored in memory). They're designated "internal use only". Specifically, I think "transmitter backup on" means that the station has lost power and is now on backup power.
I remember that! It was the day after Christmas and my family was scared because it was an EF4; and it could've hit us. Luckily it didn't but still, that was probably one of the most scariest tornadoes I've ever experienced.
