My parents’ 1780 log home is smack-dab on what is considered the Fincastle Turnpike. (My circa 1784 home is in the town of Fincastle itself). Our family settled along the Wilderness Road in the 18th Century, and we’ve been in Virginia ever since.
Well-done. Very evocative of that long-ago time in young, early America. The maps have a nice clarity to them, adding to the sense of time & place, especially in relation to modern highways. There are times when I wish I could transport myself into the screen and join those adventuresome people, our ancestors. Good, realistic portrayal of the Native Americans, too, far different in appearance to Hollywood's over-emphasis on the Western tribes. Again, very well-done!
