Welcome to Delaware Sea Grant College Program's channel! Since the University of Delaware was designated the nation's ninth Sea Grant College in 1976, our goal has been to promote the wise use, conservation, and management of marine and coastal resources through high-quality research, education, and outreach activities that benefit the public and the environment.
As a public service in conjunction with more than 35 area radio stations, Delaware Sea Grant produces SeaTalk, a bimonthly series of radio announcements and video podcasts on subjects ranging from sharks to sand dunes to current marine science research. The series has been in production at the University of Delaware for more than 30 years.
This research could provide 'busy rivers' around the globe with best practice methods to help prevent constant erosion and destruction of valuable shore lines - and will likely bring back a wide variety of birds and water inhabitants!
I enjoy your videos. I planted some beach plums in my yard so I look forward to having my own plums in a couple of years. I also grow American beach grass and planted several clumps at Robert Moses State Park. Keepin it beachy!
BattleBots 2015 S05E04 Chomp victory speech citing the horseshoe crab as inspiration. I gravitated to first searching "horseshoe crab rave" out of curiosity, quarantine does things to a person, but it brought up this. As a mid-westerner who has only travelled to the Florida Gulf/Atlantic, Oregon Pacific, and St. Croix once each I am fascinated by ocean happenings. I am in IT, but will have this channel in mind if any of my teachers talk about Atlantic wildlife.
When do smooth dogfish pup in Delaware Bay? It's between late April and early June here in the Chesapeake, and I know the systems are very closely related, but I was curious if there were differences in the timing.
