Love the sound of solid tappers!! Although it does sound like this 96 needs adjusting I bought a gear drive for my 12-second Bu' ut never got the chance to put it in. I would Love to have a Stock one ! Interior and a 4-speed Lolol mine was stripped out for the 1/4-Mile and had 400 them. No.#1 on my bucket list is another 69 SS396 "BU"
I had one new in 1969! SS396/L78/375HP 4 speedM22 rock crusher posi with 3:73 rear end gears. Same colour as this one, lemans blue I think it was called. Intake manifold is not correct on this one, as mine was aluminum & this one is red. Wheels are similar. However, they look deeper the original. I could be wrong, though! Never less nice car you have 4 sale.
That is not LeMans Blue. LeMans Blue is a much lighter shade of blue. The color on this Chevelle is "Dusk Blue", paint code 51. And you do realize that the L78 was not the ONLY SS Chevelle available in 1969, right? The "base" SS model had the 325HP L35 396, then there was the 350HP L34 396 and THEN the 375HP L78 396. The L78 is the only one that had an aluminum intake, which means that this car is not an L78 car.
@@johnnytyler5685 Yes, I know there were 3 HP versions of SS Chevelle’s in 1969! This particular 1 is probably not a L78, however it doesn’t sound stock, either! Nevertheless, intake manifold could be painted on this one! Btw, the only reason I remarked is this one looks similar to the Chevelle I owned new in 1969, however, mine was an L78 which was Lemans Blue, similar colour!
@@davidkirkham6497 I mean...I'm not looking for an argument so maybe I shouldn't even write this response but...LeMans Blue and Dusk Blue are really not similar. Other than the fact that they are both shades of blue of course. LeMans Blue is a very light shade of blue and Dusk Blue is a very dark shade. Maybe it's just bad video quality but it would be absolutely impossible to mistake a LeMans Blue Chevelle for a Dusk Blue Chevelle in person because they are on totally opposite ends of the scale.
@@johnnytyler5685 Your wrong!! Lemans blue & the colour of this car is ver similar! You shouldn’t shoot your big mouth off when you have “no” knowledge of what your talking about!
@@davidkirkham6497 You know what...I was TRYING to be nice to someone who clearly has no freaking idea what they are talking about when it comes to Chevelles, but I am MORE than happy to throw politeness right out the window if that's how you want to play it. I will bet any amount of money you want that I know FAR more about 1964-1972 Chevelles than you EVER will. I know your type well because I run into you clowns at car shows all the time. You are the guy who owned one Chevelle 40 years ago and you think that makes you an "expert" on them. Believe me, I know what you're like. You are the kind of guy who walks up to my 1972 SS 454 Chevelle at a car show and tells me "it's not a real SS because it has a bench seat and real SS cars all had buckets". I've encountered your type MANY times over the years, mainly because I enjoy owning Chevelles that are a little different...meaning not the traditional red 1970 Chevelle SS with black stripes and a black bucket seat interior. I've had your type tell me about the bench seat, I've had your type tell me "real SS cars never had an auto on the column", I've had your type tell me that "all 1970-1972 real SS cars had stripes" (because BOTH of the 1972 SS Chevelles I own right now...one a 402 car and one a 454 car...came from the factory WITHOUT stripes), and the list goes on and on and on. You are all "experts" in your own minds. That said, I'm not sure I've EVER seen someone dumb enough to argue over shades of blue ON THE INTERNET, where you could've taken 20 SECONDS out of your miserable day to simply Google "LeMans Blue 1969 Chevelle" and then open up another tab and Google "Dusk Blue 1969 Chevelle", and then open up pictures of both colors side by side on your PC monitor where even Stevie freaking Wonder could see that LeMans Blue and Dusk Blue ARE NOT EVEN REMOTELY SIMILAR COLORS! In all likelihood you probably don't even know what color the 1969 Chevelle you supposedly owned even was. It would not shock me one bit if you owned a Dusk Blue Chevelle and you've just confused it for LeMans Blue after all these years. Your type operates off of your "memories" instead of FACTS, which is why you NEVER know what you're talking about when it comes to Chevelles.
