should see if you can get in touch with Julian Cope of the Tear drop... he wrote about this being a jam session from the 1980's rather than the 1960's but Julian knows more - he has one of the best psychedelic record collections in the world probably .. top man . this has been one of my favorite albums and this one of my fav tracks all my life - listening to it now on my ipod and thought - can i find out more about this band.
Many thank 4 this great stuff. Ah Katie Boyle I remember her well, she was ubiquitous on Telly for years, especially on stuff like Eurovision Song Contest. But we never saw her like that in her unmentionables. If she'd done Eurovision like that it would have sent viewing figures sky high, not to mention viewers pulses and hear beats !!!
irish66 - no doubt. Cleese was a huge devotee of Sellers and the Goon show. Transpersonals - not really. Comedy TV maybe. But Sellers and Milligan had been doing radio comedy for years. Its interesting to see this archival footage. Milligan did a longish running TV show later - Beachcomber. BBC managed to destroy all record of it afaik. Sad. Wait, some audio has been preserved by a fan, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YIXRIX70GA0.html
Using coconuts or similar as a comedic substitute for horses in stage plays has been around forever. The comedic novelty in Holy Grail was to do it in a movie and make it look like an unfinished placeholder for real horses, and all the meta-humour that is associated with that.
And Jethro Tull used 'Chateau D'Isaster' (from the Count Of Monte Carlo sketch) as a title for some out-takes from Chateau D'Herouville on a box set later.
What a great film. I recall seeing this on broadcast TV back in the early eighties with my buddy Chris. We never stopped talking about it. Dadadadadadadadadada....
Spike Milligan inspired Monty Python you cretin via his show Qi. Now piss off back to your camel dung made hut you poverty struck moron who finds it so hard to express itself. It says all that you have a girls name as an effigy for a ponce.
