Watching this video brought back soooo many memories. I was there for all the blood, sweat, tears, prayers, pain & suffering. It was very surreal as his mom struggling to keep him alive, making sure he was well treated in the hospital, fighting against racism and bias against my son while trying to make sure his medical needs were met. And having to also take care of my other children who were still depending on me to provide for them too. It was a very lonely time and yet I had to be strong for everyone 😢. I really only had God to lean on for real support. I’m grateful for everyone who prayed and gave financially. But no one believed more than I did, that he would make it. I saw all the reasons the doctors said why he shouldn’t have made it. But I trusted what God told me! I’m grateful we had him for 8 additional years! 🙇🏽♀️🙇🏽♀️🙇🏽♀️🙇🏽♀️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

This is brilliant .I am teaching my grandson who has Moderate Learning difficulties .He is 8 .We are doing the read ,write programs and it is going well albeit slow .i believe it will take him 2 years but i am not relying on the school .i am taking charge. He does 15 mins each day plus whenever the opportunity arises
Vowel teams, r controlled vowels, and digraphs come later in learning (towards the end of 1st grade). You just teach them the sound or sounds that they make.
Make cards for those and teach those sounds first. Than teach word families with those sounds. Many children benefit from hands on. I use magnetic letter tiles that include those sounds. If you need more hand holding there are amazing programs like All About Reading.
@zarianahelizabeth9853 I'm soop glad you commented! Thank you so much for sharing that input. I wasn't sure honestly how people would take the video. Thank you for that validation.

Use the flash cards to build the word. Have them touch each sounds as they say it. You can also use magnetic letters if you have them. Building the words they are having trouble with really helps.
