1:21 someone actually took my advice almost Best from this Month: * Uncaged: FULL SPEED (Non-AFTER HOURS MIXTAPE: Ghost In The Shadows) * Instinct: Open Spaces VIP * Silk: Bloom
I don't know why, but the first time I was listening to the vine booms in the intro, then the "yay" sound effect genuinely jumpscared me. Anyways, quick review of this comp : 30. Well that was surely the point of being annoying... Personnally I think this was pretty good. 29. Pretty soft-sounding, but okay, I'll take that! 28. Don't mind the repetitiveness and square4, it's riddim that I like. 27. I actually like this. 26. Not the best OG Nixin, but still neat. 25. Sound design started to get kinda weird to me the more I listened to it, but this doesn't mean I don't like it. 24. I honestly wouldn't mind having more of this stuff on Round Table, it's alright. 23. Not the best Chibs x Duffeey, but still pretty nice. 22. Actually some good tearout by Nosphere. 21. DAMN, this was one of my favorites from the comp. Some riddim stuff in the 1st drop that's always nice to me, and SQISHI's part bangs HARD. The VIP is still even better. 20. Sometimes, non-square4 riddim does the job, and it's the case here. 19. I think I enjoyed the OG a tad more, but it's an alright VIP. 18. The best of Izadi's style in one track, it slaps. 17. NRVE casually putting bangers, the slower 2nd drop is fire. 16. goat 15. Yeah, it was indeed nice. (also yeah 2019-2020 DRT visuals moment) 14. I like that Sharks went for something different there, I can enjoy the more off-beat flows of this track. 13. (this track is on upcoming YOKED EP 07/19) YOKED doing YOKED things, except the 2ND DROP IS INSANE WITH THE TEMPO SWITCH WHAT ???? 12. Not the best Graphyt imo. 11. Not really what I expected from both artists, but in a style I really like. (also there's 2 drops but midsection is almost inexistant) 10. BAW on Round Table is insane, and this definitely a good track with those muffled drums. 9. roi* on DRT is ALSO insane, and once again I like riddim, so I do really like this track. 8. THIS style of TRVCY is so goddamn sick. The 1st drop is already very nice, but then it just gets better the further it progresses. 7. Honestly, yeah, not the biggest fan of this. Definitely my least favorite off the 3 ECRAZE x Bizo collabs, far below Growl's Anthem and Flavors. 6. An interesting duo, making an interesting briddim banger. 5. Is this sort of Schadenfreude VIP growing on me ? Maybe. 4. Yeah not the best of BeutNoise tbh. 3. Wow, did NOT expect the savages being that high in your list. Anyways, 4 savages, 1 banger. All summed up there. 2. BANGER from Marcix, especially that 2nd drop DAMN. Definitely topping Transfixed HARD. 1. This one actually grew on me quite a lot after the release, kinda understimated it at first because not the usual Dyatic flow, but it ended up reminding me of a much better version of the ECRAZE x Bizo track from this comp, which is nice. Overall I think I enjoyed this compilation more than many people out there. My faves are probably YOKED, Marcix, NRVE, TRVCY, SQISHI x YUNIT.
Very fun and interesting to see other people's opinion on this album! Experience (higher) is one of my personal favorites because in context of the album, while it does have a first drop that feels aggressive and heavy, the rest of it also feels like a really nice calm moment of the album where you can just be there in the moment and float along with it while also kind of being the climax in a way, and also i'm a sucker for Noise and Drone Ambient so it was a given that i was going to love that track. Take My Energy is my absolute favorite though, not because of sound design or production moments but just the way it all comes together but i think for me the real star of the show is definitely the songwriting. I've tried to keep up with stuff happening in bass music and have listened to a few tracks from Au5, Virtual Riot (also heard stuff off of Occult Lullaby by Muerte which while i think some of the production and mixing ideas are very cool the lyrics/vocals and melodramatic writing makes it very hard for me to get anything emotional out of it) and what not and none of it felt like this much of an emotional powerhouse, easily one of my personal favorite bass music tracks of all time
The songs i give a 100+/100 are Hideaway, OUR STARS and Bad Habits (defo not any ROY KNOX bias) but i feel like Hayve's discography on NCS is so much better I hope they return to NCS one day...
I've always considered phonk to be a niche genre, so I just took what I could get from this mixtape. Favorites were Meant 2 Be, Yellow Tree, Never Leave U, and Feel It. I felt this mixtape didn't need to be 20 songs long, especially considering how interchangeable some of the songs are. Not a fan.
Hmmmm…. your main complaint is that the songs are too short… when it’s a mixtape that’s meant to be listened through as one song…. yeah, not feeling this

Fuckin love Vol 4. I'll always have a bias for Delta Heavy and would always place I Need You at number 1 because of the sentimental value i gain from the song. I consider I Need You their magnum opus, which is saying a lot because I've been following them since Demons in 2012 and their songs prior to that Based ranking

Voidwalkers is the reason I started mass-listening to Au5 in the first place, definitely my favorite song from him, and in general. Really happy someone puts a 10/10 on it as well. Eden... is cool, but I definitely prefer Voidwalkers, it just has a unique feeling that no other song can recreate. I love void/cosmos-related stuff lol
I think it's funny that the guy says that Dubstep is bad music... the guy doesn't even know how to distort with a compressor, compress with saturation. Don't know how to make the metallic sound with a Comb Filter, with Delay or Static Flager. And come complain about Dubstep These people are too funny
I didn't even say that dubstep is bad. Dubstep is one of my favorite genres, it's just that sometimes there are songs that are too heavy, repetitive, harsh, or bland.
Reasonings in this video in a nutshell: 1. Song too old, and old ≠ bad 2. Song too long, and long ≠ bad 3. I can’t see what’s good/bad in this track but it’s good/bad These reasonings are… not good. They suffer from something that most rankers also have: a lack of any notable specific critique. Almost all these reasonings have no substance, no specific production critique. There’s nothing about how the songs being long make them less replayable. There’s nothing about how the older songs don’t work. There’s no mention of flows, melodies, sound design, percussion, chord progressions. I’m no producer, but there’s nothing good to take away from these reasonings. Maybe learn a little about production, you don’t need to know every little bit but a basic production knowledge will lead to stronger reasonings and better videos.
For some reason, I think my reasonings are best when most of the songs sound different with each other. A discography ranking like this makes it hard for me to see a difference in production. I also repeat some statements too much because there's nothing on my mind that can replace them. Also, I am not comfortable with terms I don't 100% understand, so I leave them behind. Respectfully, I will be trying to improve my reasonings (right now I've started to make them while I'm listening to the song and not while I'm editing).
@@jakubn3809 100%, there are still good rankers out there but so many don’t have any substance whatsoever. It feels like there’s more hate and less critique, and it does not work for me.
