Welcome to my farming channel, my name is Rob. I work alongside my dad on our 450 acre farm in Cambridgeshire, growing cereal and root crops. I am aiming to give you an insight into a young farmers life and what we get up to on a day to day basis. My overall goal is to give people a view on how important agriculture is and where our food comes from. Who knows where or what we will be doing !! So please join me !
Why did they plough all those years, to get a better start for the next crop. I have seen more ploughs out this year , so that say it all . There will be a place for a plough no matter what new ideas they come up with, keep up the good work Rob .
Why have you still got the narrow wheels on the sprayer tractor, surely normal wheels would reduce compaction. Ploughing was always my favourite job, gives great satisfaction.
7:10 im not a farmer nor am i in farming bud, but i keep up with it, and what your saying i 100% agree from 2024 on i dont blame farmers for giving up when everyone else say me for example ( a youtube carpanter builder) daily i can move my prices and i can earn/ charge what things cost, and yet hats of to you guys working 80 hours a week min though harvest to be told 12 months late sorry, mills are only paying £xxx, right kick in the teeth, if farmers stoped farming the world would realise after a few months how f*@ked the nation is without crops in the ground
I know there's always a place for change, but sometimes, the old ways are the best. Things always look better when you're starting with a clean canvas. You are never going to be able to get rid of the plough. Great video Rob.
Rob every field as its own requirements and only the farmer knows its needs for future cropping Believe we are only 66 % sufficient in food production so in future every one is going to want a farmer as there best friend. Hopefully returns for your efforts will be rewarded better in the future
I had the pleasure of driving a TX62 one year. Last year I had an NH9080.. this year I have a Case 7240. Getting through harvest now, with just one late drilled winter wheat field.. plus 90 acres of spring beans to cut.. yields for me, here in north Lincs, have been mostly disappointing
I saw beeans on a pod and maybe 3 to a pod. This year. Not 6 or seven maybe 4 on a push. Last ysar was the same. Go back to old veriatys. Maybe they bring the level back.
Fogoten what dust and dry ground looks like here on the solway plain in cumbria we haven’t had a full dry week since last June i kid you not can’t even cut silage
Glad your back Rob and you've nearly got it done I was started to get worried thought I'd have to watch someone else's farming video. I nearly clicked on that Ollie lad from Norfolk have you seem him I bet his dad don't know he's skipping school lol great to see those New Hollands as usual . You looked a bit tired at the end mate understandably so keep off the Stella mate switch to real ale do you a lot more good than that stuff. All the best to you and your family great to see Spud again.
Don't get shocked into a bigger combine because that will equal to more acres then more sheds its early yet the latest we finished was November the 5th we call them pikes 😂
Well done for getting it in and dry too ,, Lewis has finished his first full harvest and had some good results and some ok results, so over all I think you have done well . All the crops needed sunshine and all year the light levels have been down . We will soon pop over and have a beer with you , Well done to you all again
Just been to Nothumberland this bank holiday week and there is alot of standing corn of all types still out there. They were going Thursday on Barley so good luck to them all in getting it in dry.
Hope next harvest is better though a good end this year. Poor TX62 old girl, needs some tender love ❤️ I think in future, you should get a grant for solar panels to help costs of running any electric machinery and look into drones for some help with crop management. Farmers really should get together to have a cooperative like European farmers and control their own prices. 😅 Oh and the bean crop probably has left more nutrients in the ground for your following wheat 🌾
great video again rob good to see you getting the harvest in . hope the yields are good as ive heard some are not to great looking foward to the next video already 👍
Just how it should be.. As regards bog usage. . Depends what you identify as I suppose. I've never seen seen a picture of a smelly old fart from Suffolk so I use any porcelain that happens to be near.
Hi great video as always, how old is your combine and what header size is it ? Looks like new , wheat looks very good is it feed or bread making ? Thanks
Great drone video and TX62 was one of my favourite combines growing up. Wheat looks a clean sample. Pizza 🍕 🤤 can’t make a wrong sign mistake on outside toilets 😂 😂 😂
