We are an early 30s couple who are passionate about travel and exploring the world. Though we originally came up with the name “This Dinky Life” based on the acronym for Dual Income, No Kids Yet, we also love the play on words and the irony of it all. Merriam-Webster defines “dinky” as “overly or unattractively small,” and this life is anything but.
We’ve started this channel predominantly as a way to document our life and adventures. Along the way, we hope to inspire others to discover the beauty of traveling and provide some useful travel tips as well.
Thanks for the informative video! I'm heading to Chamonix soon and checking out your channel as my main source of info :)) did you guys get a multiday pass to access all the cable cars and lifts? or did you buy tickets individually?
Can you give some rough idea of how long y'all pedaled. I'm going to be going there with my parents and they are concerned about the battery dying. I love to use the example that you were pregnant and had no issues. If you can remember, that would be awesome.
Maybe 5 hours? The battery definitely didn't die lol. You can also kick it down to the setting that uses less battery too if you don't need the assistance.
It is a beautiful hike I did 8 years ago. The sad part is they abuse and neglect their pack horses and beat them, underfeed, underwater them. The Grand Canyon is one of my favorite treasures
Thank you so much for this! We are flying LAX to Asia, Singapore business class with a child around your daughter’s age. He too is squirmy 😅, this was perfect for us! Thank you for making this!
I'm planning to use point to book our flights on Singapore Airlines like you did. That was a great deal that you got. How many months in advance did you book the flights?
Hi would you mind if i ask how old was your child? We are planning to travel biz class with our 2,5 years old daughter. So a bit nervous how it’ll work. Thank you!
Wow , absolutely loved the content of this video! However , I felt the thumbnail could be even more eye-catching. As a professional graphic designer with 2+ years of experience , I took a shot at creating a new one that captures the video's vibe a bit better :)) ❤🥰
Thank you for sharing info and the experience. We are planning for this hike in June this year. Do you recommend renting trekking poles in chamonix or bring your own ? We are traveling from US
There are lots of places to rent hiking gear in town, so you can do that. If you already have some trekking poles that can fold down and pack in a checked bag, I would do that!

We’re headed to Japan next month so I’m looking forward to your vlogs. We’re flying into Haneda, and will be staying in the Shinjuku area. Looks like there are Family Mart’s and 7-11’s near our hotel, but I’ve heard about Lawson’s too. 🇯🇵
Amazing children center and activity provided to the kids in this beautiful and family oriented hotel. I had passed by few times before got on the gondola lift, always wonder how the hotel look like inside. Thanks for the video. I bet Ava had a good time with the kids in the children center. Hello from Sugar Land, Texas.
Hi neighbor! There were areas of the children's center we didn't even explore because it's restricted to those kids being dropped off. Our daughter did not like being left at Lino Land. She is in daycare now so would probably do much better the next time we go.

I actually used points! I transferred Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Aeroplan. It cost 75,000 points + $75.70 CAD per person. The baby only cost us $26 CAD. It was such a good deal!
@@ThisDINKYLife I think there's a market for creating videos specifically about handling a young child in flight. Dealing with boredom, crying, tantrums in the lounge, and acclimatizing a child to travel. Lots of great tips on FlyerTalk, but would like to see it visually.
Thank you for sharing this review, my family and I are headed there this weekend and this helped us align on the resort and its offerings. Question for you, most videos I have watched about the Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana, it never seems more than 50% occupied, was that the case during your visit? I want to know if I will need to really get up early to get good chairs by the pools since we have our kids.
We can't speak to what it's like during the busy season since we went in December, but securing a chair was never a problem in December. Perhaps another reason it never seems fully occupied is because there are 2 separate areas where guests split their time - the pool area and the water park area. Enjoy your trip!
This video couldn't have popped up in my feed at a better time. My wife and I are flying up to NYC tomorrow morning from San Antonio. We are staying at the Park Hyatt for a night and taking the exact same flight in BC too! Looks like we may have the same seats, lol! Thank you for the info! Great video! Going to try out the bike rental, great recommendation!
