We're all about repairing, restoring, resurrecting, flying, and discovering stuff about aviation. We don't know where we'll be one day to the next but we hope you find it exciting!

This is not going to be another "fly along and watch me" channel. We want to see how stuff works. We want to see how stuff is made. We want to see WHERE stuff is made! We'll probably also occasionally do some deep dive historical stuff to show you how some things were developed. And when we do fly we're going to show you some cool places. Food and beverage also!

Just summer in Texas. Yep,we’ve had 100+ for 6 weeks in the DFW area. Just dropped into the 90’s this week. You have my sympathies. I’m a retired AMT from American. I worked at the Alliance Maintenance right up until they closed it. Summers were a Bear in the hangar. We’d bust tail in the mornings and hide in the airplanes or back shops in the afternoons when we could.

Thanks for the update again this week Bill - things are moving forward for sure! Two steps forward, one step back, of course. Thanks also to Lefty for the interview with Maggie at the end!

G,day Bill and all the maintenance crew from Sydney Australia. Disappointing about the fuel tank leaking, it's frustrating I bet. The circuit breaker boards look great and the old wiring diagrams gave some confusion. Still 10 Amp (pop out) fuses between power supply and accessories. Q1. Are you drawing new wiring diagrams for fault finding. Will you start both engines together? 🌏🇦🇺

I'm loving this series! Thanks so much for putting the work into it. Couple of questions: For your case jack, which studs do you connect to? Any concern about the non-perpendicular pull? How do you keep the separation parallel? Will you be reusing the tappets? It doesn't look like you tracked their position, which surprised me.

Thank you so much brother 🙏 💪💪💪💪🙏 20k on a 2022 TAOS rear brakes completely smoked through never seen anything like it. But you trick for EPB was the life hack I needed my scanner wouldn't access the EPB so I was stuck until you...such an easy fix after that 20 mins done down the road. Hope all is well thank you again 💪 🤘 🙏

Is this for only one side of the rear breaks or both sides? Should you replace the gaskets when you open the emergency break part?

I noticed you were able to simply push the piston back in with a simple c clamp. Does it not require you to use the special tool to twist whilst pushing, like most VW's do?
@HangaRatz
@HangaRatz 16 дней назад
On the EPB units the main piston will push back with a clamp only after you twist the EPB piston back

G,day Bill from Sydney Australia. Is there any difference between the white insulated wires and automotive industry wires; gauges aside? Why not colour code the plastic coated conductors of 12v DC? 🌏🇦🇺
@mikeborkhuis7278
@mikeborkhuis7278 Месяц назад
G'day John. The wiring used in aircraft is generally Mil-Spec (US military Specification) and is rated for aircraft use. Automotive wiring isn't made to those specifications. As for color coding, the wiring is usually all white. There is a protocol for labeling the wires to be able to find individual wires in the various bundles. That said, sometimes red is used for power, black for ground and yellow for instrument lighting circuits, but they still have labels on them as you could have the same problem with a bunch of red power or black ground wires. The Beech 18 utilizes a 28v DC system. You can see the 28V placard on the left nacelle by the external power port to let ground crews know which power cart to use when hooking up ground power. Big Mike
