Not pulling in the largest transmission line like the video states. Pulling in baby rope that will be used to pull in bigger hard line then to pull in the conductors. Helicopter and pilot so much faster.

What the hell do you think drone is you ignorant, poorly educated cretins. Have you ever been to school to know that 'drone' is just a word used in sentences and conversations to describe, indicate or point out a certain continuous sound. How does a word become a name? And if you think it is a name, what about its present and past participles, 'droning' and 'droned', what about its definitions, eh? Are these also names? No? So, 'droning' and 'droned' aren't names, but 'drone' is a name, is it? How the heck can you stupid people be so ignorant at thinking that a bullshit Hexacopter is a drone? What exactly is a drone and how many things are drone. Where the heck did you get that idea from? Perhaps from other ignorant, poorly educated, low IQ illiterates who have been listening other equally ignorant, poorly educated dunces, like the sheep following other stupid sheep, I'd say.

I would say this arena has the finest interior finishings and infusion of team spirit into its details and design of any arena I've seen. That said, if I had this budget and the task to build an arena, I would spend more of the budget on getting some land Downtown instead. I think this concept of sortof "putting an arena all by itself on a pedestal" does less for the overall game night experience, and much much less for the city than the new concept of "juxtposing an arena as closely as possible with daytime attractions so that restaurants and bars and hotels can thrive in between." Thus I think the Staples Center in L.A. is actually better, for fans, for City, and for team, and thus overall, a "better" arena, despite bare concrete floors, etc. Also MSG, Le Centre Bell, Nationwide arena, Sprint Center, Scotiabank Centre, MTS Centre, Rogers Arena in Vancouver, etc. for the same reasons. Super curious how Rogers Place in Edmonton and Little Caesars Arena in Detroit work out after their respective neighbourhoods react to the synergy. Edmonton already has a huge amount of neighbouring construction going on, and an even bigger amount that may follow. Detroit, I'm wondering if it's quite close enough to the daytime attractors in order to properly synergise. Meanwhile for arenas in similar settings to this one, Le Centre Videotron is an interesting comparison, but I'd still put Ralph Engelstad ahead on the pure devotion to beauty.

I see a drone pulling a rope, that will be used to string the cable. Personally I believe when someone builds a drone powered by a fuel type engine, they will be able to lift helicopter type loads.

This video is misleading. The bundle block shown is a six conductors block. To pull 6 conductors simultaneously, the sock line has to be heavier than shown, normally we use steel wire rope. The little drone won't be able to handle the job.
@rwright07
@rwright07 6 лет назад
But this synthetic rope could be used essentially as a fish tape to pull the wire rope to then pull the conductors, reducing the cost/complexity overall.
@paulcorcoran6881
@paulcorcoran6881 6 лет назад
How heavy is the line?
@pochen546
@pochen546 6 лет назад
The drone idea is plausible, and hopefully, it can grow bigger (more power) to pull steel wire rope for a transmission project. For center phase, the drone is easier to maneuver than using a helicopter. The drone as is today would carry the fish tape to the towers. Then, using the fish tape to pull in a synthetic rope. Using the synthetic rope to pull in steel wire rope. Eventually, using the steel wire rope to pull ACSS conductors. The fish tape/synthetic rope/wire rope require a smaller (less power) set of puller/tensioner. The steel wire rope/conductor would need a larger (more power) puller/tensioner.

No, we use a real helicopter and lineman to sling it in there and pin it. There's no way the drone can handle the weight of a real rope or hard line pull.
@thephantom1492
@thephantom1492 6 лет назад
It depend on the drone you make! But it can ends up cheaper to just use an heli after a while, specially since the heli will be faster, and labor is often more expensive than the fuel, maintenance and pilot and other related costs.
