Hi friend 👋 I love to save money and I want you too! Join me as I show you how, and give you a sneak peak into my life as a homemaker and skin cancer survivor.
I became a stay-at-home mom in 2020 thanks to the pandemic. I was working as a news producer at the time. Since I was out of work, I decided to start this RU-vid channel to meet and help other parents. I would share my thoughs on motherhood, parenting tips, and finding balance. I still do!
But saving money has become a little passion of mine and I need to spill my secrets. We'll talk a lot about meal planning, prepping, the best grocery shopping tips, product reviews, and a few things you may have never heard before.
Be sure to subscribe and I'll see you soon 💙
P.s. May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month. All month long I'll share more about my journey after my 2019 diagnosis. I'll also share my thoughts on sunscreens I've tried, as well as sun protection and sun safety tips for you and your kids. I've learned a lot lol
Thrivers also sustainably sourced so if that is important to you, you have to weigh that as well. I imagine all the other products found elsewhere are probably not sustainably sourced.
I will not shop with thrive market. One they say it cost only 5.00 that was a lie. I was told my order would arrive in 12/24 hours. I never received it till five days after that time frame. They are a big rip off
There are cheaper price every where but if I have to bargain every product I’ll be spending a lot time. I rather go to the stores like Walmart and Aldi.
I doubted they have the lowest prices because they don't allow you to see prices until you are already a member - right off the bat, a red flag for me. I think they would be great for people/families with special diets, as you mentioned. Also, good for somebody with limited access to these items, otherwise, doesn't seem worth it for the average person. Thanks so much for your review.
So much a rip off. That's $60 I'm clearly never going to see again. "I strongly recommend finding other sources than Thrive Market. - They are seriously overpriced. You can find options elsewhere at better prices. - You don't know how overpriced they are ahead of time because they don't let you see their products and prices until you are signed up. (yeah, they're lying) - Once you figure out that they are overpriced, you will find it INCREDIBLY hard to cancel that membership. Yeah, they say it's easy and will only take a few minutes, but reality is different. - If you are unfortunate enough to have put down the $60 yearly fee, you will likely never see it again. Because their products are overpriced, you are probably best off considering that a sunk cost. - That promise of a free membership for anyone who is financially in need is pointless. None of their products are going to be within a financially strapped persons budget. - They've salted the internet with glowing reviews that can't be trusted. Ask me how I know. Been trying steadily to cancel for 24 hours. They ONLY do it via chat. Promised time to speak to an agent is 5 minutes. At some point probably most people just give up."
Girlll! Thanks for sharing your story. I have been going to the dermatologist for years and have had so many moles biopsied. I've only ever had to go back for a follow-up surgery on two, both on my left arm (probably from commuting without sunscreen for years). The last biopsy I had was when I was 2 weeks postpartum last year. It ended up being in situ (stage 0) melanoma. I have a pretty big scar now from the surgery, but I'm so grateful that they caught it early. Your videos are a good encouragement and reminder to continue to protect mine and my baby's skin, even if people give me a weird look for applying sunscreen in the wintertime in the PNW 🥰
Thank you 💙 So glad to hear that you caught your melanoma early! That's the best case scenario. Ignore those weird looks and rock that SPF! It will keep us looking younger anyways 😉
I love Aldi. Watching u walking through the isles made me wonder if that's what I look like when I'm checking out everything. I really enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing 😊
I am also gluten free and would love to know the prices of their jovial pastas and price comparing to walmart or meijiers. Also do they carry foster farms gf corn dogs and dr pragers fish sticks? I can't find them anywhere
I live in New Jersey and eggs are over 350 a dozen This is the first time I’ve come across your channel and I really like the video did subscribe and looking for more videos Merry Christmas🎉
We have the yoto player. It's great! We use it in the car and listen to stories or music. If there is wifi you can use the radio (kid friendly songs) or the podcast which is super cute! He got it for his bday. And I want to get him all the cards haha. Oh and you can make your own cards!
Yay!! Ours just came in the mail and I can't wait to see how he likes it after Christmas. I also signed up for the monthly membership to get 2 cards a month for the $10 membership fee. I believe he gets a card for his birthday too. Oh, and those make your own cards, can you download regular audiobooks on them? I heard someone doing that from audible
@@ChrystalPaull oh the monthly membership sounds cool!!! I haven't figured that make sure own card 100% we made a clip of benji singing/talking and I couldn't find it on my phone to put it on the card. But I could totally see you being able to put your own book on a card!
@@julierussell2539 cute!! I'll have to get some blank cards and try both. I'll let you know if you can download other books on there either from the yoto app or audible
Excuse me ma’am! Auntie Allison would like to remind you that Candy land was MY idea! 😊 But I’m so glad he loves it. And I fully expect a game when I come visit!
I wouldn't say that. I think some parents want an easy way to help their kids learn, especially since most of us don't have any teaching experience. These toys served that purpose for when my son was little. At 3, not so much. Thank you for sharing your point of view!
You should check out Calm Kiddos Productions on RU-vid. My one year old and I love their videos! I love that they are slow-paced, use real people/objects/animals, and focus on vocab. I would love to hear your thoughts too!
I'm not sure what stage I was because they didn't tell me. Mine was only growing on the outer skin so maybe they diagnose stages once it reaches lymph nodes, which thankfully mine did not. I'm still being heavily monitored and getting tons of check ups (will update in May 2023 - stay tuned). So far, everything is going well and it hasn't come back or popped up anywhere else
Yeah, cancer or any health issue doesn't discriminate. Sorry to hear about your friend. Hopefully it's something similar to mine and they just need it cut out. Thanks for watching Sarah 💙
i will not order from Thrive Market. they keep sending me email wanting me to sign up but I looked at their items and they are good but to high you get the same thing cheaper in town
Hi Karla! It was almost a year 😬 I definitely waited too long. I was pregnant when my husband spotted it and I was more worried about that at the time. If I had waited longer, it could have gotten worse. As you saw, the scar is big since the surgeon had to get all of the melanoma and check my lymph nodes that were close to it.
I’m sorry but I bought my 9month old some of these toys and guess what she plays with? A bowl from the cupboard a medicine box and everything else except the toys 🤦🏾
My son was the same way at that age! I didn't get the kits when he was under one. I didn't know about Lovevery at the time. I like the kits we got, but it's definitely not a necessity for little ones. Things around the house are just as entertaining as a fancy wooden toys. Do what you think is best and Thanks for watching Nicole 💙
Thrive sneaky steals by signing you up for their $59.95 membership without your conscious totally aware consent. Imagine that? 😡 They're a hypocrite corporation that tries to look like a do good entity. Total BS!!!!! I'm not shopping there. I can get anything at Thrive somewhere else without having to double triple check that the business didn't help themselves to my wallet by making additional charges without my knowledge. That's slimy shady enough for me to never recommend Thrive.
It's like a lot of subscriptions. You sign up once and you're locked into that auto re-sign up every year. It's frustrating for sure. Thankfully, stores are offering more variety of options for many dietary needs.
I think Lovevery is good when kids are younger , once they start having their own interests parents should follow their leads. I also like the instructions for parents. As a news parent myself I find it helpful.
Hi Marieliza! I loved the subscription and all the resources it gives you. I actually still get helpful emails from Lovevery. It was nice to have and I still recommend it for new parents.
Wow. I’m five months postpartum- had an emergency c section. I’ve been looking up emergency c section stories on RU-vid to see if any matched my experience. Literally your video is the first one I’ve seen that has. It seems like everyone else either didn’t experience pain after their c section, or if they did it was literally for a few days before they started walking around like nothing happened. It took me 4 months to finally feel “normal” and by normal I mean to finally not have any pain. You have no idea how great it feels to find someone FINALLY whose experience matches mine. For months I was thinking that maybe I was being a little b**** about not being able to handle the pain since everyone else’s stories were totally different lol thanks for posting this. It literally has made my night finding this.
Gosh, I feel you on this too. I was told that since I labored before hand that was the reason I was in pain so long. I also had phantom pains for up to a year 😬 I know it's hard not to compare, but everyone deals with pain and recovery differently. You did something amazing and it was a lot on you're body. You are a rock star 💙
When did you feel semi back to normal regarding stomach and scar pain? Im currently almost 4 weeks post c section and im still feeling stomach pain and scar soreness and i cant wait for it to go away:(. Love these videos!
Hi Adrianna! Thanks for watching 😊 The recovery, for me, was a while, like 6 months until I felt "normal." I had phantom pains for about a year. I was told since I labored before having a c-section, recovery would be longer. Everyone is different, so I hope you recover sooner 💙
Let's crush summer...while also relaxing 😉 Here are some activities for a rainy day or when it's just too hot: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ufJ5_kIxAlM.html You got this 💙
