i have dry eye and wake up with mucose "gunk"in my eyes. What about the old fashioned way of filling a shot glass with clean tap or distilled water, placing it over the eye and opening the eye and blinking letting the eye be bathed in water
Are we allowed to be in there when the doctor does a rectal or genitalia exams . Yes we are allowed to be i there … no you ass swipe you are not allowed to be in there if the patients objects to that !! You have no power over this the patient decide who can be in there in the room not you !!!!!
Do students need to take their shirts off and do this ? I’m taking my course in December and I’ll feel uncomfortable doing this to a female student. Patients I wouldn’t care.
For Intramuscular injection you are supposed to stretch the arm muscle so needle can reach the muscle zone, Not pinch the flesh up which will not allow the needle to enter the muscle area.
I saw a doctor go on the news to alert everybody that he have seen so many covid IM injectIons given incorrectly because they are pinching the arm and that’s incorrect
How you supposed to give in right spot at drive through sites when people are wearing long sleeve shirts Two or three finger lengths below shoulder? No more than 2 inches?
Tourniquet needs to be tied higher. Plus, it was on way too long. 🤔 Third, why is he palpating with his thumb? Where are you anchoring? So many things wrong with this? Why aren’t you as the instructor, explaining to your student his errors? Oh yeah, cause you’re too concerned with his looks.....withdrew the needle before taking off the tourniquet....
***guidelines have changed! NO aspiration, do not squeeze muscle-use Z-Technique, and no massaging,*** otherwise, FANTASTIC instructor! OMG! I wish I had her as an instructor! Very clear, great explanations of what not to do and what to do.. my class was never taught about the different equipment, so you all are so far ahead of the game from some institutions!
always clean to dirty so cover injection/puncture, then wipe away from site she simulated wiping “blood” up towards open area still wrong covered with dressing or not clean to dirty 👍
Pinching is for SQ injection, IM you either hold the skin taught or place your other hand against the skin and then hold the syringe for when you need to aspirate.
LOL, I wish they'd shown the glute shot. I want to see if other people howl in pain like I did when I got a Rocephin shot in the behind. Words can't describe how much that hurts. Given anywhere else other than the behind you'd probably pass out from the pain. To me if felt literally like my ass was being branded with a hot iron.
SHE DOES A GREAT JOB TEACHING BRAND NEW PEOPLE! NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS- There is 100% NO requirement you aspirate or not in most sites - but some medications go in sites that require aspiration. READ THE MEDICATIONS MANUFACTURE instructions... Remember - Nothing wrong with aspiration - it’s two seconds and twice as safe compared to not aspirating at all... as long as you are stable and anchored on the body.
