One question, why is the top hand in front of you? It is difficult to throw forward in this position. Have you tried raising your upper hand near your ear?
These casts are spey cast and a snake roll cast which is supposed to anchor on the water. Yes, you can get more distance if you do an overhead cast, without touching the water.
It seems like the whole line falls on the water, before the forward drive. A lot of line stick to pull off the surface of the water, before the forward drive even begins, to lift into the cast.
Hi Geir. Do you agree that height, weight and physical strength of a caster make a big difference in competition spey casting? I know technique is a huge factor but size and strength must come into it. Would you agreed.
Really ? No it was not necessary to release that fish it was full grown and no one else would ever catch it again really that was food ready for the harvest ...
Amazing fight by this beautiful monster of a fish, that is all too deserved to this gentleman of a fisherman, who knew how to play it masterfully and was thougthful and kind hearted enough to treat it well and finally release it. My hat is off to you.
