So you did miss the male elf near the weapon shop in Venworth that falls in love with you after you do a couple of his quests? Or the guy that gives you the "mystic lancer" vocation who falls for you after you help him with the second "infested" dragon? I'm not saying that you got this game wrong, not at all (the game hates you and the genre... which I love by the way), but maybe lacked a bit of "what would happen if I do this boring thing like talk to a bunch of random npcs that look a bit different?" Again, this won't make your experience better (I said "boring thing to try") but adjust some appreciations about it. I love this game because the things I like in games are present here in I way that I like, but your takes are very well backed up that I have nothing to say except "nice video and thanks for your hard work". We need opponions, not "thruths because I say so" 👏👏
Thank you for the kind words! When I was talking about the romance options I more of meant that there are no male romance options with cutscenes like Ulrika and Wilhemina :c It felt like such an odd choice because there are plenty of important male characters in the game who would have fit the bill for romance options with little cutscenes.
Oh I see. Yes, that team is outdated regarding these matters but in the first one was such a mess that "relationship meter" that I got my home village "rest inn" owner as my beloved one 😅 They wrote it with only a male protagonist mind and stopped there. The only way to get something is to sleep with a boy in the burdel 😅
@@JoseRevuelta yeah I totally expected the second game to mature a little since it was so long since the first release. I still had fun playing but I was shocked they didn't seem to advance much.
I wouldn't mind those scenes to be, at the proper location, with any other romantic option if those were completed before any of those. But it was not. Another ponit not well inplemented as you mentioned. What an outstanding masterpiece of a messy game thi is 😂 I really think all these makes this game so unique for the modern times (outdated as well) that I can't deny that I would like more games alike just to have wider sprectrum of options. And not only for the straight male audience. I'd love to have available "closed" mindsets in some regards because if that is the original scope, the devs have to deal with the results and critics to improve and adapt 😊
Stop bringing up micro transactions. We are not tired of them. Data suggest otherwise which in why they keep putting them in all the games. People buy stuff. From skins to boost. So don’t be mad a the developer. It’s a business at the end of the day. Be mad at your fellow gamers for not standing up and stop using them. But then again we fought against paying taxes and now look at us. Pay taxes on everything. Know your history. Shame.
This is a dramatic take, considering I was not mad at the microtransactions but mostly confused. The items they offer are useless, as I mentioned. It's mostly disrespectful to offer the items they do because they are plentiful in game. If people are buying them, I am shocked by their stupidity. I would be upset with the gaming community if they we're buying. But alas, that was not my point in this video. I simply wanted to voice how it was an odd choice to be an addition to this game. It seemed like a forceful move by Capcom that the developers of DD2 did not take seriously.
Whoever said it seemed like it was like Skyrim either trolled you- or they hadn’t played dragons dogma (1 or arisen) because Japanese RPGs have not yet giving Skyrim lmao. That’s like hyping yourself up for a final fantasy game thinking it’s going to give Skyrim.. like since when? But I agree as a fantasy game lover that DD2 was not a good rpg by any stretch of the imagination. Stiff dialogue/stff story. It’s a good game if you love Monster Hunter- but its story was never marketed or giving Skyrim…/it was underwhelming and for all the NpCs you could come across - they don’t say anything interesting. The fighting felt good but story wise /npc lacking on all fronts. I’m just… that yall thought it was going to give Skyrim. Yeah, if you’re new here.
The marketing insisted that the npcs would be life like and immersive. The same was suggested for questing and storytelling. Which were the elements I enjoyed the most from skyrim and was what I was hoping would be showcased in this game. Hope that helps your understanding of my wishes since I wasn't clear what aspects of the game I thought would transfer to DD2. Sadly, I would not ever compare DD2 to monster hunter. It is not even close. Big monster does not = similar to monster hunter. Monster hunter is fortunately one thousand times more complex in its combat. I don't think fans of monster hunter would enjoy this game. They are very far from each other in terms of difficulty and gameplay.
I haven't tried devil may cry but I've heard such great things about it! I'll have to check it out. I def don't think DD2 could match the DMC series. I pray for a new DMC game for you brother
dont know what it is with most modern games and their obsession with making them worse than their predecessors. the game improves in combat with more fluid animations and finishers but completely gets rid of the variety by taking so many skills away at the same time. for example why does the sorcerer have frigor instead of gicel??? the enemy variety is trash as well man. like they took away so many enemies. this game needed more time to cook man and it desperately needs new content.
In my Opinion .... DDDA (Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen) is FAR better game. story is all over the place but combat is what holds up the game and the Dark Arisen DLC place is really cool place to explore and fight threw. way better monsters in that version of the game. DDDA is the first game plus the DLC Area (talk to the girl in the docks at night time to go there) and added stuff with an infinite teleport stone in the bank after you get to a certain part in the game. I can't stress enough how better to me DDDA is to Dragon's Dogma 2. Graphics isn't everything... but it would be nice. one day someone will get it right ... Looking at you Elden Ring...near Perfect! tons of lore to read... haha .. Anyway good vid I wouldn't Recommend DD 2 ether but I would Recommend DDDA.. Always! you might want to give it a try to take the bitterness of 2 away. I loved the fact that they made a 2 ... and it's a ok game ... but it's not DDDA.
Closest you're gonna get to Skyrim is Fallout. Try Fallout 4. Or Elden Ring. Or switch it up altogether: Death Stranding, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Like A Dragon, Persona. Ghost of Tsushima, Spiderman, Red Dead Redemption. Stellar Blade. Final Fantasy 16. Zelda BotW. All hitters.
Game feels like a incomplete masterpiece. First 25 hours genuinely feel so magical that few games even hope to emulate. But the sudden fall off after those hours is so drastic that it needs to be mentioned.
@@Muddyfe yeah , cuz if you don't pay attention to your pawn like they aren't behaving like normal and have red eyes they'll kill most of the npc at the capital lol
Tip: If you find you're too poor early game, (including to buy recruit weapons) You can just sell the golden egg you get from the chicken quest for quick money. Also, fighting the units with sword icons infront of forts will get you 2000 gold every time.
I skipped the Recruit gear only because money is in short supply early on. If you really want to level up a unit quickly, put them with Josef and they'll get levels quick. Better to save for rare gear IMO.
Meh....you say you haven't delved into "story" mode much, yet pretty much all of your footage is from that difficulty (you can tell from stamina values). You also show a surprising lack of general knowledge & over-reliance on your twitch chat for info, so I'm fairly certain you've never touched expert difficulty.
Hey there... fellow addicted UO player. It's funny how as I've played I slowly started using Josef less naturally. Changing the tactics is the real game changer. I love how freely you can customize it. It's actually really crazy how much customization options you have for a given unit. I can see how crazy it's going to get later. Just finished Virginia's revenge battle. Glad she got her get back 😂 This game is so sick. Makes me laugh, frustrates me, excites me, completely immerses me in all the characters and lore and the god tier voice acting. I'm in love with it lol. May we all enjoy our journey to becoming the overlord of unicorns 😂
Great tips 👍 I'd be lost without my chat as well so I get it. Very helpful though, especially the one about Josef and giving his gear to someone else, thanks again 😊
Thank you so much for the video! I especially like number 4 - I often avoid buying things because I'm scared of missing out on money hahaha By the way, do you know what the garrison effect "no wait time" means? I thought it meant that if a character rested on it, it would mean "no wait time" - leading to that unit waiting for a good 5 seconds while being destroyed by enemy units! lmao
When you lose a battle, there is a wait time associated with that loss. This allows the enemy to attack you during that time period and get a First Strike against you. This let's all of them attack before your characters do, regardless of Initiative. This is especially important if you just lost a fight because the enemy did all of a point more damage than you. So when there is no wait time from a garrison, it just means that if you lost the battle, when you get attacked immediately after, you aren't penalized with that First Strike.
Correction: DO NOT BUY RECRUIT WEAPONS. They have been nerfed. You no longer gain the xp bonus. Save your money for other stuff like the sanguine blade
Are you sure? While you should save for the sanguine blade, the recruit gear still does do boost. Id buy a few, for your starting crew but you don’t need to buy too much since there is such good loot. Once you start collecting a few units start cycling them to your newly recruited mercenaries to get them caught up, while Josef protects them.
The healing condition tip is a great one. It’s real annoying when your back line is at a cool 10 hp and your tank is down 2, and the healer decides to heal the tank lol
Can an average person understand the story of this game or is it for LIBERALS who utilize critical thought? I personally prefer games that don’t require wrinkles in my brain.
