You pack more than you need, but I appreciate that you are aware of weight. There are far too many RU-vidrs that post Moto camping gear and some of these guys think that 50 pounds is lightweight. There’s a great thread on ADV Rider about ultralight packing. It’s well worth the read.
@@motojon76 out of curiousity what items would you remove out of my kit? The obvious being the camp chair but I fail to see what else I could trim down. My currently kit weight with food and water for 2 days is approx 16.5kg or around 36 pounds. I use to only bring my tarp if the weather was questionable but as high country weather is really unpredictable and I've been caught out in heavy rain, I make a habit of taking it with me on every trip. I'll check out those treads on ultra light packing Cheers
@@Tales_Of_Moto_Adventures You pack a lot of fear. Why all the spare parts? Why do you have so many lights? A headlamp is fine. 2 Tubes? Why are your tools so big? Read the ADV Rider thread; it'll be eye-opening for you. P.S. Your Coyote WILL leak. I've had 3 of them.
Cheers. I'm confident about this bag as I've had it strapped to my back for over 10000km of rough terrain with zero fault. I've had it covered in mud, soaking wet and I've crashed landed on it more times than I can count with no damage to my kit or the bag. Sure it is not the most expensive bag out there , but In my eyes It's a great bag with very high build quality :). I've a few more expensive photography brand bags break on me for a lot less. thanks for watching.
Nice setup thanks for sharing your progression. I recommend connecting with Alton Goods for your underquilt and your next upgrade on the sleeping pad. They have amazing products at great value and Aussie brand :)
cheers mate, I have a few mates who are into Alton goods, they do an interesting hammock under quilt I would like to get my hands on. they have a lot a good looking products.
Wow! Those are some awesome upgrades to the bike. Thank you for sharing, I plan to buy my first DRZ in the near future as an upgrade from my CRF 250L. Its awesome to see how you can personally customise these machines. I subbed for more content as I like your style :) thanks
Cheers mate, After using canon for over a decade, I am really enjoying the switch to Sony. I'm a big fan of your channel and content, been following your adventures for a while :).
Absolutely gorgeous! How does one get to a point where they can take a stock bike and turn it into this? Im about to get my license and then first bike but I feel like I know nothing 😬
Thank you 🙏. I've been making a habit of modding bikes for a while now, both road and dirt :). Get yourself the workshop manual for the bike you will buy. It all starts with a little tinkering.
Cheers mate. The stock the sm in a little sluggish, the E has a bigger carburettor and hotter cams. But once you open up the SM you have an almost identical bike in power. I had mine setup for gravel and light off-road. Before I sold mine I had installed a pro circuit exhaust and rejected the carburettor. It produced good power but the noise was extreme. The SM also has a USD fork which is a little better in my opinion.
@@Tales_Of_Moto_Adventures Thanks mate, yeah there seems to be a lot more Es around than SM. Looks like you can swap out the forks RMZ too for the USD forks. You've got a great setup.
@@Lanesplittergarage I'm pretty sure I'd also need to take the rear shock and lower link, the sm fork sits a bit lower than E fork. i reckon swapping the fork alone would upset the geometry of the bike :).
@@seawench555 I had travelled a long way to capture footage, I was not going to let that stop me :). I also rode most of the next 2 days, It was not overly painful on day 2. It Turned out to be 2 broken metatarsal , sprain ankle and dislocated cuboid.
@@seawench555 it's not the first time and I can guarantee it won't be the last :). There was such a loud audible cracking sound, I was pretty sure I had broken something. Funnily enough the cuboid stayed dislocated for a few months, until I crashed on my Murray River trip, my foot got crushed in the crash popping the cuboid back in place.
right time! I was looking for a solution how to carry the camera gears on motorcycle! carrying in a backpack cause shoulder pain and dangerous to your body when you have a crash. did you try carry in tail bag?
cheers mate. how much weight are you carrying in your bag? I find that I get shoulder pain if I carry too much weigh in my backpack. I do not like carrying my camera gear on the bike, the terrain I ride is pretty rough, I don't think that would be good for my camera and lens in the long run. I wear Level 2 body armor when riding, and I've crashed many times with the backpack on with no issue or injuries.
I have a camera body and a couple of lenses (Sony a74). Even this setup causes discomfort after just an hour of riding. Is there any risk in carrying the camera in a tail bag? I’m concerned about the constant shaking.
That sounds heavy, full frame lens can be super heavy. If you ride on the road I think carrying In a tail bag should be fine, for off-road I would be a little concerned. I mainly worry about lenses. I don't think they would appreciate being shaken so much.
I’m not in a financial position to upgrade my cameras yet, but as soon as I am I’m ditching the GoPros and getting the DJI 4. Great gear list man that’s why your videos look soo good.
@@budget-adventureCheers mate, up until recently I was using 2 gopro hero 7, an old canon EOSR with a 17 to 40mm lens and the Mavic mini 3 Pro, I took advantage end of financial year to upgrade the action cam and I also got the Sony camera and lens.
@@Tales_Of_Moto_Adventures I currently use the hero 8 black and 10 black and can’t tell the difference between them when filming. Yes the 10 has a few more options/features, but it also gets hot and won’t turn on right when your wanting it to.
As a new ADV rider (GSA1200) I have enjoyed all your videos. I am not a photographer, so it will be crappy mobile phone pictures for me. Maybe a drone shot or two. I as I am a solo traveler too, I am interested in your choice in regard to SPOT vs the inreach and it's two way sat. Could you please drop some more info on that decision? Oh and if you want a tag along, let me know!
Cheers mate, I really appreciate your comment. in regards to spot4 Vs in-reach mini. my decision solely came down to cost mate. The spot 4 was 1/2 the price of the inreach at the time of purchased. in all honesty the inreach did not make my list. My short list was: - Ocean Signal RescueMe PLB1 - GME MT610G 406 MHz - Spot 4, - ZOLEO Global Satellite Communicator. I ended up going with spot 4 for the tracking feature and the simplicity of use.
Great video mate. Nice to see your setup. I would recommend you to check out the Jupio Pr1me 3x charger for the Sony batteri, sd card slot and works as a power bank if needed. Saves room in the setup and charge all 3 batteries at the same time.
Great info on your gear, and very well edited. Your work is very professional - be it in the "studio" or out in the field. Great content, keep it coming mate 😎👍
@@billpeat1013 cheers Bill 🙏, I was looking at the Kakadu 2 tents, they also look awesome and a bit lighter as well. I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality of Denali products.
Thank you :), my last 3 videos have been shot on a Sony A6700 with a G18-105 lens. my next video is about the content of my camera bag I should have that one ready in 10 days or so.
What a beautifully calming video! Camping in the forest and cooking amidst the trees creates such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The blend of nature’s tranquility and a warm meal makes this experience truly special. Excellent work capturing the serenity of the woods!
Great videos, among the best shot since you started these adventures, the drone shots, with mist are great, so is the light and colors. Well done William.
Wonderfully filmed and edited! There's a lot of work put into making videos of this standard, your time and effort is not unnoticed - cheers for the upload 😎👍
Good 😊 video been 2 South Wales the past 2 days 4 family funeral but going there again In September my birthday week 3days camping brand new tent 2 try out can't wait and Christmas staying in a Cabin by myself heating and electric ⚡
Cheers mate, sorry to hear about your family member passing. new tent to try is always exciting. hope you have an awesome time on you 3 days of camping mate.
How did you get the smell and rubber taste out of the MSR water bag? Honestly....I gave up on mine and got the Giant Loop 4l bag and am satisfied with it. I tried scrubbing...vinegar.....Dish soap, nothing got the taste and smell out of the MSR 🙄
@@MrRodwatson that is a very good point. I found you do not entirely get rid of the taste with this bladder. I periodically wash mine with a combination of backing soda, white vinegar and water. I usually let it sit in there for a few hours shaking it around violently every so often. I then repeat the process with clean water. I dry it lid down, with a microfiber towel shoved inside to soak up moisture. In mine the smell is gone, but the taste is slightly present.
@@Tales_Of_Moto_Adventures Thanks for the reply.....having said that, if you have connections at Giant Loop, I really recommend their water bags. Super tuff and molle compatible.....and almost ZERO odd taste.
Cheers mate. It will most likely be the next item I get from a giant loop. Their water bladder has much better anchor points than the msr bladder. I'm definitely keen to get my hands on one.
