When you lowered the action, did you turn the trem screws? If so then you need to sync the trem then use the saddle height adjustment screws to raise or lower the action. Bought my custom 24 used and would go out of tune whenever i used the trem. After i synced it there is no issue. There is a great tutorial on RU-vid if you search for it.
I had right thumb pain that I think started with work (mousing and spacing, my main instrument classical guitar, and the dreaded cell scroll). I got an ergonomic mouse, the logi-tech vertical mouse, and started using a stylus when I scroll around the ole socials on my phone. There are also stretches I do after googling "stretches for guitar players" Its a LOT better than it was. Also just ordered one of these bad bois on looks alone so fingers crossed haha.
I have the special edition fiesta red player Strat same as your one but the paint finish is perfect with no imperfections visible, am happy with Pau neck..
Great video, which allows us to hear the differences in the two guitars without your professional opinion sprinkled in. Although I would love to hear your thoughts in a follow up...The size in the body is very different and the neck radius seems larger in the Les Paul...I own the Epiphone, just got it about three weeks ago. The guys ion the studio love my sound with it and the return of the whammy to my style, which was not on my PRS McCarty594... Personally, I like the feel and balance of the PRS better but the Alex Lifeson Epiphone is fast and fun and I love the tones I get from the coil split and out of phase sounds, like a Strat when it goes single coil. The major major defect on this guitar is that there is no Tension Bar behind the nut to keep the strings tight to the nut when restringing the guitar. The strings float about an 1/16 inch above the nut floor and this makes it very hard to guess where to leave the tuning PRIOR to locking it down (which then raises the pitch because the strings are not properly seated in the locking nut) Can you do a video of changing the strings? That would be awesome to see how you do it. I am going to play these factory strings forever unless I can learn how to do it myself. Great channel! Keep the good stuff coming!
Pulled the trigger on one of those, in part based on your review. Bought it here in Europe. First one had a broken neck and was returned, but the replacement they sent is perfect. Killer axe.
My PRS CE24 goes out of tune by just looking at the whammy bar. Forget dive bombing. I've never heard of this kit but assumed it would address the whammy bar problem. Did you find that your guitar stayed in tune better when using the tremolo after installing the kit?
@@cleanhonda333 Definitely! The knife edges on the stock trem were worn a bit from the factory. Lubing the nut and adding locking tuners also made a big difference.
Thanks for the video, even from my cell phone I could tell a significant difference in the sustain. Was looking at adding a Mann Made bridge to my SE CE as well.
@@tbone2451 Thanks for checking back in with me! I ended up trading this and another cheaper guitar for a Les Paul. It was really, really good but I need a bridge humbucker these days!
Your bridge posts are defects. I have a 2023 PRS SE Paul’s Guitar and I tried out a bunch before I bought mine. Mine and every one I’ve tried has the proper bridge posts with zero lean.
The custom shop 59 Neck profile is a exact digital repro of the Carmelita burst. "Carmelita" is the nick name of a 1959 Les paul standard burst owned by Joe bonamasa.
@@TheGuitarReliquary Thanks. I got a 2023 Murphy lab last month. It's the guitar in my profile pic. I absolutely love the thing! I posted a bunch of pics and specs On the "My Les paul" forum under the same name i use here👍
I played a few today, didn't buy one. Looks cool, plays extremely well for a budget import (where were these 20-30 years ago) but ultimately said no thanks. If you've played SE series before you know what to expect. They all play pretty much the same, up to the Holcomb level. This one is nice without the gloss neck but otherwise typical SE feel. If you like that you're a lucky player. I personally do not care for their "wide thin" neck profile. Thin where? That's their usual chunky feeling neck. That's too bad.
+++ well done!!!+++ the Sound improvement is worth it+++ i would do the same+++ just bought a SE Custom Floyed and put Seymour Duncans in... but i dont like the Floyd... now i am jalous 🤨🤔 +++
@@Axman66 Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. The kind words are very appreciated. I have a love/hate with the Floyd Rose myself. Two VERY different animals…What color is your Floyd?
I'm hearing a relatively significant difference. MannMade comes off 'richer' to me. SE is slightly brighter to my ears, but I prefer the sound of the MannMade. I just swapped my tuners for their lockers, and now I'm going to have to put this on my final upgrade list. Did you swap out your knobs for the lampshades also?
@@TobyGuidry Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!!! I did swap out the knobs for lampshades. Something about a PRS without those lampshades looks “off” to me. No offense to those who prefer others, though!
Sire guitars beat everything all to hell. Sire is the real deal strat and tele and 335 and jazzmaster and les paul. They are all leaps and bounds ahead of anything I've played in a long time. Been a guitar tech for over 47 yrs and I fell in love with Sire guitars. I think you will too!
@@ronaldgoebel2174 Thanks for commenting! If you check out the channel, I did a short video with a Sire H7. They are great! But very different from a PRS!
@@tymanngruter1808 Thanks for watching and great question! Depending on the Wilkinson bridge you are thinking about, there are several reasons. Many come with bent steel saddles rather than machined, saddles may be steel rather than brass, they often (always?) include steel sustain blocks as opposed to brass, they often come in black (hard to tell what shade) rather than black nickel, and, unless they are made by Gotoh (some are not), they may be of an inferior quality.
