In this Beta Build, Triple H still had the Smackdown 1 Trunks where he's got the newer "hHh" design on the front but the "hhh" design on the back. In the final build of SD 2 he has the "hHh" on the front and back
This was really fascinating since, I like many have loved this game since childhood and, I have been wanting to know about all the differences between the beta build and final release of this game. I knew there was a beta build of this and Smackdown 1 but, couldn't remember all the differences overall between both Smackdown 1+2 builds and, both Smackdown games.
Gameplay footage from the beta and pre-release versions of WWF SmackDown! 2: Know Your Role on the original Playstation. DIFFERENCES TO THE FINAL GAME ~ • No music during gameplay • Announce tables on wrong side of ring • No referee/announcer voice • Different crowd • Outdated attires (Jericho, D'lo, Edge, etc) • Silver/grey Ladder • Entrance ramp from previous game • Unfinished Titantron, nothing shown • No crowd signs • Ken Shamrock (removed character) • Unfinished attire (Rikishi) • Table colour more reddish brown And many more.
If you go back in Benoits career and look at em and then go near the end and look at em, he’s clearly psychologically fucked up. His eyes and face are grizzly, almost like a war veteran with ptsd. The man was not all there to say the least. Rip his family
0:20 Shane McMahon sweatpants is wrong, if you look at his matches in 2000 he had white stripes on the side of them like Triple H and the Rock sweatpants. I edited it on my cartridge.
This was the first video game I played with secret unlockable characters and it really hit me different. I'll never forget the feeling, in fact the game still gives me those vibes. I remember Vince McMahon was the one character I really wanted to unlock. Not even sure why. I'd dream about buying a used copy of the game that had a save with Vince McMahon already on the cartridge. Over time, I unlocked him and even Andre the Giant. What a great time to be a wrestling fan and a gamer. Could talk forever about this game.
I couldn't unlock everything in this game because I'd get that Erase Data glitch from time to time. Luckily the Memory Pak saved our custom CAWs, so that was the main reason why we kept playing.
Patterson and Brisco should have been given a character slot for themselves (i.e. two Pattersons and two Briscos) with Real American as their entrance music... it's quite an annoyance and extremely out of character to see the King and JR do the Hogan flexing when they come in 😅
Jerry Lawler especially should have been a separate character, easy to come up with attires based on his wrestling history as well as a proper moveset, Piledriver finisher, etc.
