My favorite is your last oil, it was a nice balance of cool to warm colors, with a sensitivity to light. Oiling out is new to me. I just discovered cold wax for watercolors, possibly the same concept, to create an even surface texture on a finish. Nice work Mr Basman.

I set up the palette from light to dark, usually starting with Titanium white, Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium red, Chromium Oxide Green, Ultramarine Blue, Burnt Sienna, and Ivory Black. I say usually, because it sometimes depends on the subject matter and I add one or two different colors. I use a glass palette. and keep enough empty space for mixing. I hope this helps!

I'm painting on Bristol paper that's been pinned to my board. I use water to thin the paint but in small quantities, which keeps the paper from getting too wet and warping. Hi Heidi! : )
